Defensive needs w/FA and draft

Jax went from 3-13 to playoffs with the key addition of 3 defensive veterans.   Yes Campbell is big time rusher but we have 4 very solid rushers on hand but we still need to add veteran presence to our defense.  Jax did a very nice job against NE today.  Also, note the conference winners all had very solid rushers.

With FA, we should be targeting 4-5 players per the Mind Character thread and I would think half of these would be for defense.  With the draft, we should use 4-5 on D and especially CB and S as well as speed LB and DT/DE.  Any way you look at FA and draft we will be forming our defense for years to come.

FS is not a pillar position in our defense. So to draft a FS in the top 5 in Minkah would be a poor use of resources, like putting Air Jordans on a corpse, or building a house but spending your whole budget on door knobs. If Minkah is a CB then youre spending smarter, except there are equal CBs available later in Josh Jackson and Denzel Ward. I personally trade back from 4, pick up another 2nd rounder, and take one of those two a few picks later.
