Should the NFL bring back a farm system like NFL Europe?

If the players aren't good enough to earn a draft selection by competing at the college level then they don't deserve a spot on an NFL roster to begin with.

What?

Hall of famers like Warren Moon and Kurt Warner would beg to differ.

And that ignores the literally hundreds of undrafted players competing in the NFL right now.

Versus how many that were drafted?

Hall of famers like Montana, Brady, Manning, Rodgers agree.

The point is, there is no reason to start another development league when the way it is now works just fine.

Does it? Based on what?

How do you know the NFL wouldn't be better if young players (especially QBs) had somewhere to go hone their craft?

The NFL is the only professional league in the USA (and possibly the world) that doesn't have a professional league to develop talent in. But yeah, no good could come from it, okay......

I HIGHLY doubt that number but even if it were true, that still does not justify starting another developmental league.

Just to be clear, you are saying the NFL would be better off if players like Warren Moon and Kurt Warner never got their chance?

And that number is 100% true despite your doubt.

Based on the fact that here we are talking about the NFL after nearly 100 years of it's existence. That's how.

How do you know that it would? What are you gonna get 2000 players where maybe a 1 out every 500 make a contribution.

And they already have somewhere to go to prove their worth.

Read the article. They are also counting players that appeared on ACTIVE list for ONE game! Now that article was established in 2014,  how many of those guys do you think are still active today?

Nope. Not at all. Not sure where you got that from. Just because a hall of famer like Warner can  come out of nowhere and become one of the best does not mean that there are several baggers working at a grocery mart just waiting for greatness.

I guarantee it would be way more than 1 out of 500. You are way off on how many players fall through the cracks. It took Sam Mills (who was a damn good LB) getting cut by the Browns, the Toronto Argonauts, and finally getting his shot thanks to the USFL to make it to the NFL simply because he was a 5 foot 9 inch LB.

Where can they prove their worth? The way the NFL/CFL agreement works signing with a CFL team makes it very difficult to come back to the NFL.

As for why I think it would improve the league. Because its the norm all over the world to have 2nd league to develop players in. And sorry but having  players in game shape playing in NFL2 when a team needs to replace an injured player would without question make the NFL game better. I don't know how you can argue it wouldn't.

Who cares?

Having a larger player pool in game shape playing football would clearly improve the NFL. It floors me that anyone would argue it wouldn't but to each their own.

Again, you can't just assume that there are dozens or hundreds of Sam Mills out there.

Good for all over the world. In the NFL each team gets ample reserve slots for any player worth holding onto than can be interchangeable at each teams discretion for any player that is worth a damn. They also have the regional combines for any grocery mart bagger that believes in himself.

Again, there's no reason to change anything.
