CONTRACT NEGOTIATIONS

FB Jimmy McCauley (95) - 5 year deal, $4.2 mil salary, $1.35 mil SB, $3.64 Y1 cap hit - $27.5 mil Total Contract SALARY

- This is a lot of money for a Fullback, but he's the best FB in the NFL and team Captain.  A 5-year deal will take him until he's 33, but I just can't imagine parting ways with him any time soon.

WR Deveon Bartell (92) - 5 year deal, $11.7 mil salary, $5.85 mil SB, $12.3 Y1 cap hit - $87.5 mil Total Contract

- He's only 25 years old and SS X Factor.  He's already one of the best WRs in the NFL.

HB Francis McBride (87) - no offer

- This one is tough.  On one hand, he wants a relatively reasonable contract of $32 mil over 5 years.  On the other hand he's a backup HB in a game where I'm simming him like 100 attempts a year, attempts HB McCauley could be taking.  I just don't see the upside when I can just draft a cheap backup.  He's now a Superstar dev trait, he'll be a decent starter for someone.

LE Marcus Davenport (84) - 1 year deal, $9.0 mil salary, $3.55 mil SB, $12.5 Y1 cap hit - $12.5 mil Total Contract REJECTED

- So Davenport rejected this offer.  He will be 30 next year (which means he'll regress this offseason) and he wants a multi-year contract worth $12+ mil per season.  Its time to move on.

P Matt Haack (83) - no offer

- He's turning 33.  I'll sign a new Punter in FA.

OC Billy Price (81) - no offer

- He'll be 32 next season.  He wants a 1-year, $10 mil contract.  I should be able to find a cheaper replacement in the draft.

TE David Starr (80) - 4 year deal, $3.2 mil salary, $1.55 mil SB, $3.59 Y1 cap hit - $18.8 mil Total Contract

- He's a blocking TE, which makes him a great #2 TE and backup FB.  He's only 25, I signed him as an UDFA.  I like him as depth.

WR Tre'Vante Lunsford (80) - 4 year deal, $4.0 mil salary, $2.10 mil SB, $4.65 Y1 cap hit - $24.2 mil Total Contract

- He's good depth in my WR core, and only 24 years old so he should only get better.  This is a pretty reasonable contract.

LOLB Leroy Landry (77) - 4 year deal, $2.8 mil salary, $680k SB, $2.46 Y1 cap hit - $13.7 mil Total Contract

- He's a former 4th round pick, only 25 years old.  He's a good depth player and good scheme fit as a coverage linebacker.

TE Rafael Underwood (71) - no offer

- He was a one year stop gap. I can draft someone better.

MLB Tre Harvin (73) - 3 year deal, $950k salary, $260k SB, 975k Y1 cap hit - $3.63 mil Total Contract

- Cheap depth.

WR Immanuel Hart (73) - 1 year deal, $1.6 mil salary, $850k SB, $2.4 Y1 cap hit - $2.4 mil Total Contract

- Only a 1 year deal so why not.

FS Jeremy Jeffrey (73) - 3 year deal, $650k salary, 0 SB, $490k Y1 cap hit - $1.95 mil Total Contract

- Cheap depth.

So QB Holloway was somehow a slight step down from Silas last year.

HB Rathman had a great season.

WR Bartell had another big year.

MLB Covington finally broke out.

DT Tripp led in sacks again, the rest of the team sacks were down.  Not sure why Toone isn't producing more.  I need a new LE to create pressure.

CB Cash had a fantastic season.

I thought I was going to lose this game, and I almost did.  IRL when you sweep a team in the regular season that team almost always loses in the playoffs.  Looks like the play of the game was a 75 yard run by HB Rathman.

Holy crap I got smacked.  RB Rathman had a good game but that was about it.  The Saints destroyed my defense.  Their QB shredded, he was the 15th overall pick in the 2020 draft.  A bummer to not bring home the Lombardi again this year but another good season none the less.

CB Forrest Hitchcock (72) - 2 year deal, $750k salary, $400k SB, $1.05 Y1 cap hit - $2.30 mil Total Contract

On 12/4/2019 at 9:27 AM, THE DUKE said:

At a 98 OVR, is Tripp one of the best (highest rated) players in the entire league at this point?

So he's the top DT at 99.  Kenny Clark is 98, then 3rd is a 92 OVR Ed Oliver.

There are ten 99 OVR currently in the league:

DT Derek Tripp - Bengals

LOLB Brian Burns - Lions

MLB Devin Bush - Steelers

CB Jaire Alexander - Packers

HB Saquon Barkley - Giants

QB Lamar Jackson - Vikings

WR JuJu Smith-Schuster - Steelers

RE Myles Garrett - Browns

QB Patrick Mahomes - Chiefs

LG Quenton Nelson - Colts

P Lane Robinson (74) - 7 year deal, $950k salary, $200k SB, $658k Y1 cap hit - $8.05 mil Total Contract

- He's 22 and has Star dev, which is pretty rare for a Punter.  I wanted to lock him up long term so I don't have to worry about Punter for awhile.

LOLB Jameson Fuller (74) - 2 year deal, $1.8 mil salary, $350k SB, $1.87 Y1 cap hit - $4.2 mil Total Contract

- He's a power rusher, I'm going to move him to LE for depth.  He's 26 years old, normal dev.  When I moved him to LE he got bumped to 75 OVR.  Barkeep pour my Jameson fuller please.
