This is exactly what I'm thinking.....a combo of things....first, they wanted to make sure they didnt need him.....so why not hang onto him to the last minute.....and IF there is a chance to get a 2nd round pick (presumably #34) and you could 1. make sure you keep him out of the AFC, off a young team with an up and coming top 5 D....AND still would have 2 first and 2 2nd round picks to build the roster.......why create a monster in your own back yard? Trade him to a team that is Further away from Contention AND not in your own backyard....and it only cost you one draft slot....taking #34 instead of #33....that's just smart football.....
