jleisher
My wife and I excited by the phone call from Green Bay to make the Packers 2021 Draft selections. I couldn't believe it, she was all smiles for me. Me telling my Nephew-in-law about the call. Nope, this didn't happen. Keep dreaming Mr. Leisher. Don't Ernest T. Bass me and throw rocks at my dreams. It's my fricken dream, so zip it! With the 29th pick in the 2021 NFL draft, Jeff Leisher and the Green Bay Packers select. Alijah Vera-Tucker LG/LT USC (Why?) This pick would offer a starting LG which would allow Jenkins to slide to LT until Bak comes back, or Alijah mans LT until Bak returns. He offers the Packers some options with the OL. With Pick # 62, I select. Liam Eichenberg T Notre Dame. (Why?) Options my friends, options. Could cover LT with Vera-Tucker at LG and Jenkins at C, of could take the starting RT job from day 1. Invest in the OL, protect #12. Mr. Leisher, please get me some help. With the 92nd pick, I select. Seth Williams WR Auburn (Why?) Aaron said so, good enough for me. Could be solid #2 to Adams and maybe replace Adams if they move on from Rodgers. WHAT??? Do you think Adams will resign with the Packers if Rodgers is not the starting QB? Hey dumbassh, what about my defense? Ok, ok!!!! With pick #135, I select. Tommy Togiai DL Ohio St. (Why?) Run stopper, high motor and effort guy. A difference maker in the running game. Pick #142, I select. Aaron Robinson CB Central Florida (Why?) Offers versatility and physicality as an outside or inside cover corner. Would also add to the ST unit. Hey Joe, you happier now? Good start Mr. Leisher, keep it coming. With the 173rd pick, I select. James Wiggins S/ST Cincinnati (Why?) If healthy, could be a steal. Has all the cover skills of a free safety. Another player that could upgrade the ST unit as well. Did you forget about me? With pick #178, I select. Ihmir Smith-Marsette WR/RB/RS Iowa (Why?) Slot receiver and return specialist, #214, I select. Javian Hawkins RB/RS Louisville (Why?) Speed, speed and more speed. High energy in all aspects running, receiving and blocking out of the backfield. You da man Mr. Leisher! #220. Jonathan Cooper Edge Ohio St. (Why?) Solid pass rusher and run stopper. Smart player that plays under control. Gee, another ST player. #256. Quinton Morris TE Bowling Green (Why?) Former receiver with raw talent with upside. UDFA's Grant Stuard LB/ST Houston Avery WIlliams CB/ST Boise St Shaun Jolly CB/RS Appalachian St. Spencer Brown RB UAB Nick Pickett S Oregon Ryan McCollum OL Texas A&M Otis Anderson RB/RS Central Florida Ben Skowronek WR Notre Dame Shaq Smith LB Maryland James Smith P Cincinnati Zach Smith QB Tulsa Making the Packers great again!!!! Hope you enjoyed this dream mock.
15412
Colorful. Creative. I don't like it. Too much gravy and not enough meat and potato.
pgwingman
I hate it, which means it's fairly likely. I guess it does highlight the fact that we currently don't expect either our LT or RT to be ready for Week 1. I think Eichenburg could be gone by round 2, but if the board falls that way i could be a great value. I've also never heard of the guy you selected in Round 3. What does he add to this offense if Adams is extended?
cannondale
Neither Alijah Vera-Tucker or Liam Eichenberg are playing OT Edited April 5, 2021 by cannondale
DWhitehurst
+ Love your prioritizing of the OLine over everything else. I mean, I'm as disappointed as everyone else with our 2nd CB position, but for goodness sake, we have THREE positions along the OLine (LT, RT, C) that are question marks heading into next season. Rodgers arguably does not win the MVP without that OLine we had, and had Bak not gone down, it may have been enough to overcome Tampa Bay and get to the SB, if not win it. Yes, yes, we can move the guys we have out of their ideal position of OG to OT and C, but I don't see how that is a longterm answer. After the pro days, potential targets like Jenkins and Cosmi may not even make it to #29, and guys like Radunz may not make it to pick #62. Jalen Mayfield is showing as more an OG prospect not worth pick #29, leaving you with less than stellar options like Eichenberg and Christianson at #62. As I see it, OT is priority #1. CB is priority #2. If you take an OT at #29, then who is left at #62 for CB? Newsome will be off the board, maybe before #29. Will Melifonwu be there at #62? Doubt it. If we trade up from #29, we might be able secure either a solid OT like Jenkins or Darrisaw or a CB like Newsome. Granted, even here, it depends on how far up we'd need to go let alone be able to go (gotta have a willing trade partner). But we won't get both positions locked down with our first two picks given where those picks stand now. So as I see it, best of the worst options is either a small trade down from #29, a trade up from #62, or a combination of both. Then hope you can get a combo of say Radunz and Melifonwu. Just my two cents... Edited April 5, 2021 by DWhitehurst
