O'Neil may not hit enough to make use of his power, but that risk is easily worth Gonzales. Hate this deal. That's where I am with this deal. I haven't seen enough of O'Neill to feel like I'm making a fair evaluation, but given where Gonzales is right now and the future of the rotation I'm more than okay with this deal. Viewsfromthe206 Posted July 22, 2017 Share Posted July 22, 2017 I think O'Neill would've been a perfect replacement, at least, for Cruz, and I'm not really trusting Haniger at this point. K's will always be there for O'Neill, but Mariners definitely overpaid for an unproven commodity with possibly the most sought after prospect in our system, due to how close he is.
