SCOUTING REPORT: STRENGTHS
  • During 2021 he was quite simply the most dominating pass rusher in college football and was almost impossible to block
  • We awarded him a perfect pass rush grade for the season
  • Athletic freak with amazing combination strength, quickness and speed - Hutchinson made Bruce Feldman's freaks list at position number 2!
  • A natural pass rusher
  • He has played in various alignments including 3 and 5 technique - very versitile
  • Has fluid footwork to redirect, reverse momentum and close with a burst. Regularly first off the ball with good snap anticipation.
  • Plays with leverage at the point of attack whether inside or outside. Keeps eyes in the backfield when inside; moves linemen to either side with strong hands.
  • Very quick off the edge (plays faster than his timed speed) - usually beats tackles
  • Easily gains inside leverage by shooting gaps.
  • Locatates the ball quickly and is difficult to fake out.
  • Good strength and has a good bull rush
  • Relentless in pursuit and strong off the edge as a pass rusher when fresh. Gets under the pads of tackles to bull rush them into the backfield.
  • Flashes strength at the point of attack with active, violent hand use. Forceful with his upper body to defeat blocks. Strong hustle player.
SCOUTING REPORT: WEAKNESSES
  • Stands up well against the run but is very pursuit-conscious and will take unneeded wide angles.
  • Manages to get to the QB with athletic skills alone - probably could do with adding more pass rush moves to his game.
  • Misses tackles, even when he gets his hands on the ballcarrier. Needs to improve hand placement and technique.
  • Early in his career would get stuck on blocks and was taken out of the game.
  • Overshadowed by Kwity Paye when the two shared the field in 2020 although has more than made up for it since

SCOUTING REPORT: STRENGTHS
  • Lloyd is a tall athletic linebacker with great range. Showcases very good speed to patrol all areas of the field.
  • Reads the quarterback to anticipate and is a candidate to play outside.
  • He’s a super-smart, instinctive player whose game intelligence is the best on the field - a real quick thinker.
  • Has a good burst and can close on the ball carrier in a hurry.
  • Keeps feet moving after initial contact. Jumps inside as a counter to typical rush, but needs to show a larger variety of moves.
  • Greet feel in coverage. Often arrives at the receiver at the same time as the ball, giving up few yards after the catch. Possesses straight-line speed to stay with or chase down receivers in man.
  • Tougher between the tackles than many expect. Fluid and quickly drops into zone coverage. Hovers enough ground to be Tampa-2 "MIKE" and knows where the markers are.
  • Ferocious against the run and very good in coverage is extremely versatile. Despite his build, he holds up well in traffic and makes a lot of plays by engaging a block, shedding, and pursuing.
  • He will always try to plow into the largest piles and has a good knack of ending up glued to the ball carrier.
  • He can line up at MIKE, outside, rush on the edge, and over the slot if pushed.
SCOUTING REPORT: WEAKNESSES
  • Lacks pop and strength to anchor, though. Most effective when uncovered inside and chasing stretch plays to the sideline.
  • Has lean limbs and needs to get stronger and add bulk to his frame.
  • He is too aggressive and will overrun his lane, although has the speed to recover.
  • Hasn't logged many snaps in college and is short of in-game experience
  • While he has good athletic skills he's not off the charts and will never be a physical dominator at the next level - will have to rely on smarts

  • To often bites on QB play action action fakes - and doesn't have the super elite speed to make up for it
  • Takes too many bad angles to the ball and sometimes overshoots
  • Allows to big a cushion on some pass routes - will need to try and tighten this up to be considered elite

  • A slippery runner with elusive footwork. Has little to no wasted movements between the reception and burst upfield.
  • Lacks the ideal size, but has a similar body type to Antonio Brown.
  • Makes difficult catches look easy.
  • Shows quickness off the snap to shake off corners and create room. Separates with hesitation moves and nice acceleration.
  • Former track athlete at HS level, won PIAA state championships in 4x100 relay and long jump (2016), and regional state titles in 100m and 200m in 2018
  • Dotson is a big-play producer. Since the start of last season, he is tied with Olave, Smith, and Jaelon Darden for the most 20-plus-yard TD catches in the country with 11
  • He gets off the line with a nice burst and is very fluid in his movements with little wasted steps in his routes.
  • An impressive athlete with very quick acceleration to reach his top speed quickly and stretch the field. Very good body control and smooth movements. Plays fast and explosive.
SCOUTING REPORT: WEAKNESSES
  • NFL defenders may be able to knock him off his route because of his slight frame.
  • Does not always use his hands to secure deep throws, allowing the ball into his pads and chest
  • Dotson has a smaller catch radius, doesn't have the size to win many 50-50 balls, and won't break a lot of tackles
  • May have an issue transitioning to the pros - he's 5-foot-11 and goes 184-pound and will likely get pressed more frequently in the NFL than at the college level.
  • When he’s forced to catch away from his body, there are multiple examples of him double-catching the ball, which enables defenders to break up the play.

  • Being a former a WR gives him a unique insight into the position and it shows on the field
  • Rare hand-eye coordination and agility, vision, and third gear to make a living in the return game.
  • He has impressed against lower competition but often needs safety to help in man coverage, especially on deep routes. May get overpowered by more physical receivers at the next level. .
  • Smart player who reads the QB well
  • Excellent hands and easily plucks the ball out of air
  • Willing to help out in the run game despite not possessing a strong build
  • Kendrick can force the ball away from receivers and has caused fumbles as a result.

  • Fails to maintain inside technique in man coverage. Not a press corner.
  • Still learning the position after player WR for most of his career
  • He has impressed against lower competition but often needs safety to help in man coverage, especially on deep routes. May get overpowered by more physical receivers at the next level. .
  • Some character concerns - one of which led to him leaving Clemson and transferring to Georgia - may put teams off
  • Kendrick is quick in short areas but some have questioned his speed on deep routes where he was beaten on some deep routes while at Clemson. The combine - should he choose to run will clear this up.

  • Does not possess elite strength or power and as a result, isn't particularly explosive - relies on technique
  • Sometimes is late off the snap allowing offensive lineman to get a firm footing against him
  • Only one dominating year while at Georgia (in 2021). Was only average during his three prior seasons

  • Plays a bit high which allows him to sometimes be dominated at the point of attack
  • Doesn't have the strongest hands and can be pushed back by bigger lineman.
  • Has had problems when double-teamed - his limited length means he struggles to anchor and get leverage
  • Good strength, though his marginal arm length limits his ability to grab hold of ball carriers as they run by.

  • Long athlete with impressive frame, top-level catch radius, and top-end speed and excellent leaping ability. In high school, Pierce jumped an amazing 45'11 in the triple jump
  • He’s an athletic freak and was No. 46 on Bruce Feldman’s annual Freak’s list. Feldman wrote that Pierce has a 4.45 40 and a 40-inch vertical. That athleticism, in conjunction with the other traits, makes him a big-play threat on any given snap.”

  • Has good body strength to squirm out of tackles with the coordination to maneuver his frame between defenders.

  • Very good blocker on run plays - almost like having an extra tight end
  • Very good hands accepts, the ball fluidly on most throws, and is ready to make a play afterward. Makes catches in traffic, even going up over taller defenders with vertical and toughness. Has had an impressive 117 QB rating when targetted over his college career making him Ridder's best friend
  • Often used on deep routes, getting separation down the sideline or over the middle on crossing routes by extending his arms rather than pure speed.
  • Has elite balance tight-roping the sideline and in-and-out of his breaks, showing excellent start-stop ability and burst.
SCOUTING REPORT: WEAKNESSES
  • Has never really put up top-level numbers at Cincinnati - his best year was 2021 where he made 52 receptions with 873 yds in 15 games. This is despite being the featured receiver on a top NCAA team with Ridder at QB
  • His hands are on the whole decent but he has some concerning drops and has concentration - turning to run before he's hauled the pass in
  • Does not have a developed a route tree and tends to round them off

  • Has a similar playing style and athletic profile to Jaxonville WR Matt Jones from 2005 - who never made the jump from college athlete to NFL receiver
  • Does not always use his hands to secure deep throws, allowing the ball into his pads and chest

  • Can be susceptible to speed rushers as he doesn't have great speed
  • Attacks when necessary, though he won't consistently dominate and can lose balance overextending.
  • Height can be a detriment in short-yardage, defenders can get under his pads to hold the line.
  • He strikes with excellent timing but will sometimes get beaten by defenders that can overpower him
  • To be a top prospect will need to add some mass to his 6' 7" frame
  • Not a dominator as a run blocker will need to improve leg drive in the NFL

  • Stands up well against the run but is very pursuit-conscious and will take unneeded wide angles.
  • Plays tall and gets upright off the snap. Wins with upper-body strength and needs to focus on leverage.

Dreamland?   There are so many reasons why none of this makes sense.

Why dont we just have all of the picks be the Packers?     With all these high picks, and rodgers gone - No investment in the QB position?   Detroit trading a whole bunch of picks for a guy they can get without moving?   Jacksonville trading the first half of their draft to get AR and 2 poison pills - Who is going to help AR win there?    Why would Rodgers agree to this?   Why would JAX do this without a long term agreement?
