There have been 32 blown 2-0 leads in postseason history.

This Phoenix squad has been together two years and has two of them.

Their postseason resume includes beating the Lakers in 6 w/o AD, sweeping the Nuggets w/o Murray, the Clippers w/o Kawhi in 6, and the Pelicans w/o Zion in 6.

They played 4 on 5 vs the Lakers because CP3 couldn't use his right arm, annihilated the Nuggets who did pretty well v the champs this year, the Clippers who beat the #1 seed that year w/o Kawhi, and played the Pellies w/o their best player.

Let's get back to the offszn thread.

3x scoring champ, 1x MVP, 7x All-NBA and carried the Rockets to great seasons and further in the playoffs more times than Luka or Jokic have carried their teams.

Why did those great seasons end? Because he consistently fell off in the postseason. That trend goes back as early as the 12 finals where he looked like a G-League guy. Luka at 23 already has a more diverse offensive game than Harden ever did, and Jokic is already better than Harden ever was. Harden doesn't have it.

I forgot about all of Luka and Jokic's finals runs. Why did their seasons end?

Luka:

Supporting cast let him down each of the first two postseasons while he was awesome playing against much better teams. This last year they were too gassed from the Phoenix series to overcome the talent gap between them and Golden State. Luka had his worst series to date against GS too, but that was still 32-9-6 on 56% TS.

Jokic:

Keeps running into better team. First, LeBron/AD, who won it all. The last two years he ran into two other teams that made the finals except without his #2 twice, and his #3 once. This years team was the worst supporting cast of any team that made the postseason or play in. He always played well in the series he lost.

So if they win it's because they're on LeBron/MJ level but if they lose it's because of everyone else?

That's been the case so far...so yeah. If they completely flop in a postseason like Harden usually does or Tatum did in the finals I'd call them out for it too. One of the reasons why they're special is that hasn't happened. Right now you're the kind of person who would be ragging on 1986 Jordan for getting bounced in round 1 because you're only looking at who advanced and not why. It's why you'll always be playing catch up, and admitting you were wrong after the fact. Like you did this year after round 1 when you owned up to being wrong about Luka.

Jazz on the verge of an organizational collapse were a wide open buzzer beater away from forcing a game 7 against the GOAT Luka.
