Forget about Leftwich. Any coach that is coaching a QB like Rogers or Brady should be dismissed. Obviously Payton in the first choice. We can interview Bienemy and Leftwich because we have to, and only if you don't get Payton do you consider hiring those other guys.

Dak will be here next year, stop kidding yourselves. They will draft a QB early, but not 1st pick or trade up. It will be another career backup they will try to groom. If they flop again in 23' you let Payton rebuild it. He will get 4 years guaranteed with a fifth year option.

First and foremost, Leftwich was a quality offensive coach before Brady. On top of that, who do you think tuned that bombs away offense to Bradys quick drop and release style and calls the plays? Who do you think put a perceived washed up Fournette in a position to look so good, or put Godwin in a position to look like a star receiver? Who do you think has designed those plays that enable Brady to remain upright and play to his strengths? Leftwich.

I get what you are saying - that top passers make their coaches look better than they are - but the reverse can be true, too. The right system, proper playcalling, and consistency with whats being taught can be just as important as who is playing QB.

Is Montana, Joe Montana, without Bill Walsh? Maybe, maybe not.

Is Fouts, Dan Fouts, without Don Coryell? Maybe, maybe not.

Both sides can be important. Writing off one side or the other just because one side is exceptional is how you miss out on a good thing.
