Giants TE Daniel Bellinger undergoing surgery on fractured eye socket

Shame for that kid and their team, as he was really playing some good football. That’s such a tough position to step right in and play in today’s NFL — only three TEs in the last decade have put up even 40 yards/game as rookies, those being Pitts, Evan Engram, and the criminally underappreciated Jordan Reed. Bellinger wasn’t quite on that level yet, but he was already a reliable target in that passing game.

I fractured my orbital in a car accident some years back, hit my face on the steering wheel. I made a full recovery after surgery (pretty quickly) and never had any vision issues, so hopefully the prognosis is good — although in fairness, after the injury, I never did ever average 40 yards/game in the NFL.

You were consistent though. Same NFL receiving yard average before and after your surgery.
