I like Jack calling it out, but typically also a big faux pas to insert yourself into a teammates' business affairs lol

Well maybe don't have a ***** of an agent and drag on multiple contentious negotiations with a team you "want to be with" then Jack will respect your business.

Everyone goes about it differently. But generally, think that's a pretty long standing unwritten rule regardless of how negotiations go

**** 'em. Jack plays by his own rules. All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.

I think it would take more than holtz, but if that's it, yes

I mean, I would expect it to take more than Holtz. I just meant as the headliner in a package. Think of it as Holtz, a mid round pick and a B/C prospect (Walsh).

If the other pieces are a bunch of nothing, I'd do it. And I'd look to trade bratt to Detroit for the package I mentioned and go get Ross Colton for something

I think we can manage a Crouse addition without moving off Bratt. Helps us get heavier to play against overall while still maintaining our top 6. Try to drive 3 lines deep with the McLeod line being an energy line. I know you'd rather not have someone making big money driving the 3rd line but I think Bratt can do that.

Palat/Crouse-Hischier-Mercer/Meier
Crouse/Palat-Hughes-Meier/Mercer
Bratt-Haula-???
Sharangovich-McLeod-Bastian

Maybe give that 3rd line a shooter like Graeme Clarke or a ring chasing vet.

If the assumption is 17 million between Timo and bratt this year, that leaves roughly 13 million for

Mikey

Haula

Rango

Bastian

Boq

Bahl

Luke Hughes bonuses ( you know he's crushing those) + potential Nemec bonuses

Tight, but not impossible. You'd have to hope for a big jump the following year for mercer's contract + bonuses though, or you can just bridge mercer and redo it when palat and Dougie are moveable.

But if bratt is on the third line and potentially off the top pp unit (possible with Luke addition) then I'd kind of just rather cash out because I don't think we are going to get our money's worth anyway

Boqvist won't be back unless it's cheap IMO. We may move off Rango for futures since he's probably going to ask for more money and his type of role is easiest to replace with a PTO type. Think Mikey and Bastian won't be too expensive, definitely under $1.5 Million for each. Bahl will be around the $1 Million mark.

Gonna be interesting to see what we do.

I think Mikey gets at least 2. He was really good this year and was one of the few who showed up the entire post season. Something like 3 years, 2 million to buy out a ufa year.

I do wonder if boq will be back. Just never quite clicked there. He's been worse that kuokkanen and we bought that dude out lol

I don't see how you can pay a faceoff specialist $2 Million.

He was really good this year as a 4th line center. He drove play, can transport the puck and make some nice passes. Dude can't shoot worth a damn....I mean, legit one of the worst I've seen lol

But despite how he was deployed (and being mostly stuck with wood) his line still managed to out score his opposition, out chance them, etc. His points per 60 were above guys like Rango, Josh Anderson... Right in line with people like Christian Dvorak.

That wouldn't hold with more minutes, but that's really good for 12 minutes a night on the 4th line
