Schmid back for another AHL year with Daws likely done for a large portion of the season and Vitek in a 25-30 game role as Helly's backup. Then you have Schmid and Vitek as your 1A-1B tandem in 24-25 with Daws and Brennan in Utica. 25-26 Schmid takes the role of your full-time #1 when he's a whopping 25 years old. That’s very interesting. I get Schmid is young and goalies can be fickle ( it seems like if you’re not elite they’re all fickle ) but, man, this guy just had a great post season, and has come up clutch during the regular season too. I think he has to get nhl time. Im not too off Vitek either. He just seems like a streaky goalie.
