Just Want A Title
I saw that Christian Wilkins is playing on the 5th year of his rookie deal and hasn't been extended. This is pretty astounding to me. He has been playing as a 3-4 DE but he has put up huge numbers the last two seasons. The Dolphins have a really good secondary but he doesn't have much around him in their front-seven. If you were the Lions would you consider making a move to get him (assuming he is available) and what would you give as compensation? I suspect it would be Alim McNeil plus a draft pick to get him but I am not too sure. Thoughts? https://www.nfl.com/news/dolphins-dt-christian-wilkins-unable-to-come-to-terms-on-new-deal https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/W/WilkCh00.htm
Karnage84
I'd say the Lions are high enough on Allim that giving him up would probably void the deal. If they could add him while trading away someone like Levi and some draft comp, then maybe it'd make sense. Even if you consider Wilkins an upgrade over McNeil, you have to consider both the draft compensation and the contract you're paying (along with losing a player of his caliber).
