There’s absolutely ZERO reason for Cousins to take a below-market deal. He (and his agent) know that Minnesota needs Kirk Cousins. Kirk Cousins likely has multiple suitors. Minnesota is unfortunately very limited in what they can. Either they pay a hefty price to move up the board OR they pay Kirk Cousins his market value. Does he get market value with his injury? Spotrac has him at 3 years, $118M ($39.3M AAV). PFF has him at 2 years, $60M ($30M AAV). PFF seems a bit low. $39.3M would make him the 13th highest paid QB right ahead of Derek Carr. Derek Carr seems like a pretty safe floor for Kirk Cousins. But it wouldn’t surprise me if he starts pushing closer to $41M/$42M AAV. The Rodgers retirement narrative was completely fabricated by the media. Favre literally retired like three times and would roll back up to Lambeau two weeks before training camp saying he still wants to play. I don't think an achilles injury is going to change much considering his style of play. He wasn't very mobile to begin with.

They also both got replaced by a first round pick their team drafted while they were still in their prime and ended up getting put out to pasture 3 years later
