Post-draft roster breakdown UPDATED w/ UDFAs

Recommended Posts

Offense (25)

QB (3)
Lock: Lamar, J. Johnson
Bubble: Cunningham, Leary
Long shot: E. Jones

It looks like Cunningham hasn't impressed the coaches so far, so Leary has a clear path to QB3 if he earns it.

RB (3)
Lock: Henry, Hill, Ali, Mitchell (PUP)
Long shot: Wright, Collier

The real question here is how Mitchell recovers. I'm assuming PUP.

TE/FB (4)
Lock: Andrews, Likely, Kolar, Ricard
Long shot: Sharp, Rigerman, Washington

This is a dominant position group.

WR (6)
Lock: Flowers, Bateman, Agholor, Harty, Wallace, Walker
Long shot: Robinson, Washington, Wade, Hardy, Ryan
Cut: Baker

We have 6 quality NFL WRs (or in Harty's case KR), so one of the UDFAs will really have to shine or an injury occurs to open up a roster spot.

OT (3.5)
Lock: Stanley, Rosengarten, Mekari (.5)
Bubble: Faalele, J. Jones, Pearl
Long shot: Simpson, Doss

Faalele needs to step up because Jones or Pearl could take his spot.

G (3.5)
Lock: Cleveland, Voorhees, Mekari (.5)
Bubble: Sala, Bullock, Dalcourt
Long shot: Doss, Manning

I don't think Sala has impressed so far, so a UDFA could take his spot.

C (2)
Lock: Linderbaum, Samac (Mekari)

Until some more competition arrives, Samac is the only true backup C. Mekari is playing T and G, I'd consider him an emergency center.

Defense (25)

DL (5)
Lock: Madubuike, Jones, Pierce, Washington, Urban
Long shot: Ravenell, Walthour, Roy, Franklin, Nichols
Cut: Colbert

We have 5 solid players so a UDFA would really need to stand out to make it.

Edge (6)
Lock: Oweh, Ojabo, KVN, T. Robinson, Isaac
Bubble: Hamm, Evans

Hamm was the UDFA last year, he'll have to hold off Evans for that spot.

Off-ball LB (4)
Lock: Roquan, T. Simpson, C. Board, Harrison
Long shot: Rigby, Jennings

Harbaugh will be prioritizing special teams with the new kick off rule, so I think Board is a lock.

CB (6)
Lock: Wiggins, Stephens, Humphrey, Tampa, Maulet
Bubble: Armour-Davis, Mullen, Pepe Williams, Hollman
Long shot: Swilling, Christian, Cooper Jr.

We have five solid players here, and a bunch of guys going for that last spot.

S (4)
Locks: Hamilton, Williams, A. Washington
Bubble: Kane, Brade
Long shot: Toles

Whoever performers the best should get the 4th safety spot. I'll give the edge to Kane but UDFAs can easily outperform seventh rounders.

Special Teams (3)

Locks: Tucker, Moore, Stout
Long shot: Plattner

Also fully updated first post for those that want to see the whole thing.

Thanks. Having the full list is useful, I also like a list without the guys signed to futures contracts, a couple may make the practice squad but I don't think any of them will likely make the final roster.

IMO if we go into next year with this O-line:

LT: Stanley
LG: Voorhees
😄 Linderbaum
RG: Cleveland
RT: Rosengarten

I'm gonna be super nervous.

Sure we can swap Mekari in for RT or LG, but are these the best guys we got? Yikes.

We'll see who the UDFAs are.

To my eye we still need depth at G and S.

I would not put Tylan Wallace on the bubble given his ST's experience. If anything, Walker is on the bubble.

Agreed. It's tough to cut a 4th rounder but we've seen it before. I like Wallace quite a bit, I think he's more or less a lock. Will adjust.

  • AngusMcFife changed the title to Post-draft roster breakdown UPDATED w/ UDFAs

Once you factor in the UDFAs, I'd say a few have a chance to make the roster simply due to the depth we have:

QB, RB, TE, WR: can't see much room for a UDFA.

OL: I can definitely see someone passing Faalele and Sala if they perform well. Pearl, Bullock, and Dalcourt are candidates.

DL: This group is 5 deep maybe an extra DL can sneak on the roster (Walthour, Franklin, Colbert)

Edge: Can Hamm hold of UDFA Evans?

Off-ball: It seems like we have 4 players here, but maybe Rigby or Jennings can earn a spot.

CB: I don't see any chance for a UDFA CB.

S: Can Kane hold off Brade?

IDK about saying we have 6 quality NFL WRs. Zay is a good NFL player. Agholor and Bateman are at least roster locks. Walker is a 4th round rookie with a low floor. It's a possibility he's just not playable. Then are we really going to keep two primary special teamers behind that?

They were looking at Gallup. I expect a late offseason vet addition at WR, more likely than not. Maybe a cut/trade from elsewhere.

Yes you are right about Walker, but I generally assume a 4th round pick will make the roster. There is a slim possibility he doesn't but that's pretty rare. It makes sense for the Ravens to have at least 1 developmental WR on the roster, especially given that he offers a skill set the other WRs don't.

It wouldn't surprise me if the Ravens upgraded at WR by bringing someone in, but I'm just analyzing the roster as is.

EDIT:

Also, Harty had a year where he caught 36 for 580 and 3 TDs. He can play some on offense if used right.
