It’s such a shame since he had all the physical abilities you need and it seemed to have been wasted on him.

Fowler had one season with 11.5 sacks in 9 seasons & he was playing for the Rams so Aaron Donald was getting double and triple teamed every play. Again, Chase stupidly got traded last year when he was finally on pace to get over 10 sacks after working his way back from his knee injury by an awful GM/HC but you were in favor of that one thing that Rivera did because you HATE Chase! So why did Chase Young, who was finally on pace to get over 10 sacks last year, only get a one year, $13 million ‘prove-it’ deal with the Saints? If he was going to have such a great season ‘finally,’ why didn’t another team in the league reward him with a larger contract?

Because he obviously didn't have that season after he was traded to the 49ers who already had 2 starting DEs that had been starting half the season. If he stays in DC all of last year who knows what happens. We can all just agree to disagree. I find it hard to believe in 10 games starting - especially with one of those against the Giants starting Justin Pugh at LT & Tommy Devito at QB - that Chase wouldn't have had more than 2.5 sacks. Heck, he may have had 2.5 sacks in that game vs the Giants but we’ll never know the answer for sure bc Rivera gave up on his two DEs on his way to getting fired for being incompetent.
