Phire
Reich's dad played at Penn State and was drafted by the Eagles in 1956, but apparently didn't play a down (was taken in the 14th round).
Phire
In any case, Doug has a wide network of people he can hire from given his connections as a player and as coach. I think Doug proved to be way more competent than anyone ever imagined. If he was able to hire guys like Flip and Reich in the first place, I have no doubt he'll be able to get adequate replacements. Having a collaborative gameplan makes it harder for defenses to prepare.
nlesthought
I see Mike Groh moving from WR to OC, while Press Taylor going to QB coach. I wouldn't mind a veteran like Caldwell to come in as a consultant if Doug prefers to promote from within.
nlesthought
I still think Bevell/Shula are two we should consider as well they both have high level experience with QBs played QB and are from the outside so a new set of eyes to see things. I think Bevell may go NYG or Indy experience with both Shurmur/Reich Shula I don't know his connections that well
