I really want to avoid cap killing contracts knowing that we'll have Nico's and Hughes extensions right around the corner (both will probably be in the $8-10 Million range) along with Hall's. We need to make moves to convince Hall to stay but we can't go crazy giving out 5 year deals to guys like Nyquist and Eberle. The only long term deals I'd be okay with are Karlsson and Panarin. I don't care if Karlsson may break down during the deal, the guy is a god damn stud and gives it his all day in and day out. That's the type of player we need. And it's not like we are a free agent hotbed. Getting people to sign in Jersey when they aren't already there can be tough without an overpay. We'll do something but I'm not sure it'll be anything that makes Taylor go, "yeah, I'm definitely staying." He's not getting a long term or expensive deal from anywhere. 1 year 3-4 million maybe. Wouldn't be the worst guy to help ease boqvist into that role either. Would you take jt Miller and give up like a third? Hefty one year addition in salary, but Callahan of the books after next year. Or Would their first be worth it?
