  1. There's the slimmest of chances Freddie gets fired. What people seem to be missing is that: 1.) Dorsey doesn't want to hire a HC that can take organizational power. 2.) Baker is team Freddie 3.) Dorsey put together a lot of the coaching staff and doesn't want to see them leave. 4.) Freddie can still blame or fire other coaches with the (I didn't get to hire my guys; Steve Wilks wasn't my guy). 5.) Freddie can still give up play-calling to save his job. 6.) The Haslam's scared about their perception around the league as having a quick hook. --- Freddie's coming back. Book it.
  2. What changes will be made this off-season if any on the coaching staff (NOT what you hope will happen)? What changes are made in the off-season if any in terms of player personnel (NOT what you hope will happen)? -------------- I actually think the following will happen. Coaching Change Decisions Predictions 1.) Freddie Kitchens will be retained. 2.) Steve Wilks will be made scape-goat of the season and will be fried. Defense has been bad. Fans will forget a lot of the good work the defense battle through this year holding up their side of the bargain even with injuries or players being unavailable. 3.) Freddie's guy Chris Jones who is the Brown Senior defensive specialist and former head coach and general manager of the Saskatchewan Roughriders will take over as Defensive Coordinator. 4.) Either Todd Monken will leave with Ryan Lindley promoted to OC or Todd Monken will take over play-calling. Personnel Change Decisions Predictions 1.) Joe Schobert will be allowed to walk - I said it last week and a lot of noise is pointing to it this week 2.) OBJ will not be traded to another team. 3.) David Njoku will be traded for nothing of real value. 4.) Damarious Randall will be allowed to walk in free agency. 5.) Olivier Vernon will be on the team and not be cut.
  3. Wild thing about it Bruce is the season's 2 games from being over and seen no growth.
  4. Winning against CIncy is no spectacular feat. Losing to the burgh and cardinals with everything still in play is a serious issue.
  5. what an amazing idea.. what an honor to have your endorsement.. I'll dedicate it in your name..
  6. Not happening. Book it. Guaranteed status quo going forward. We're still winning 7 games and Baker and Dorsey (the two most powerful entities in the organization) are both Team Freddie.
  7. It's a guarantee that he's coming back man. I don't see how this game is the tipping point. If he should've come back before this game, he should still come back after.
  8. I get your reasoning man. I really do. But it's a done deal. Freddie is coming back year. If we had an internal candidate, maybe he wouldn't be. If the Haslam's didn't have fears that they'll be perceived as fire-happy again (even if that fear is unfounded), maybe Freddie wouldn't come back. There's a reason the reports have come out this week about Freddie coming back. The only way he doesn't is if there is mass dissent against Freddie staying via the players. However, as long as Baker is team Freddie and Lindley they will stay. The mistake made in the Freddie hiring was basing everything around what Baker likes instead of what might've been best for Baker and the team in the long run.
  9. If we were going to fire Freddie, then it would be more meaningful now. But because we're not going to it's more important to get wins now so the team doesn't burst at the seams in disbelief in whatever Freddie is selling them. As is, Jarvis and OBJ don't believe in what Freddie's selling. The defense doesn't believe what he's selling. Most of us don't buy it. You'd have to think a lot of players don't as well. I'm sure some players do. But players are player-centric and have a player-bias. When they look around and see all this talent and no results they're likely going to blame the coaches more so. If Freddie stays, we need wins and offensive success now and draft position shouldn't be the focus. I believe he should go. So, I'm all about draft position figuring out how to get Jedrick Wills to play tackle or Tristan Wirfs to play guard.
  10. You scare defenses with uncertainty. You scare them with pre and post snap doubt. Hesitation and overthinking is defensive death. The best way to do that is to make the run and pass look the same. The way to reliably do that is an under-center based that uses pace and tempo to strain the thought processes and wind of the defense. There is another way of course via the shotgun heavy offenses. And that is to use the out of the backfield HB/RB or quick passing game as an extension of the running game much like the Saints do. In so doing, there able to make their passing and run-pass schemes and plays look the same. They then hit people in the gaps to their possession WRs. We are neither of those types of offenses even. Our personnel suggests we build it the 1st way like the 49ers. Oddly enough teams like that have success even without elite RBs let alone 2 of them. I think we both agree for the most part that our running and passing game don't work together.. that they don't communicate. This offense lacks a depth of design and overall. I'd have no problem with our attack if we did what New Orleans does .. at least in that case there would be logic and flow to our offense. Right now the there's no flow and consistent logic.
  11. Timing was off on that 3rd down. Ball placement was outside where it should be but Peterson sniffed that the whole way and was outside so in that case like the great Leverage throwers in the game like Deshaun Watson or Rodgers you have to throw that away from wherever the leverage is.
  12. Nope. Not at all. With Bill Walsh it was the complete opposite actually The West Coast offense under Walsh the great was about spreading the defense to create one on one match-ups and a quick rhythm passing game. However, like Kyle Shanahan and Mike Shannahan current West Coast offenses, the West Coast god father Bill Walsh was not pass first and instead argued that his offense was built on what then was called the "Play-Pass." We now know it as play-action pass. Walsh was obsessive with ball-faking, ball-handling, and making both the run and the pass look the same. Explosive passing offenses and efficient one's aren't efficient because those offenses pass first and all the time, but because the running and passing game work off one another. It's a misnomer that Bill Walsh West Coast was "pass first." It is accurate to say that they were a highly successful, dynamic passing offense. But running and establishing the run and it's look to lead to tempo based "Play-Pass" or what we know as play-action was the heart of what Walsh believed. Some of his best writings after his coaching career ended were arguments against the perception that his WC offense was pass first.
  13. I get what you're saying in that you don't agree that we should be pass first. Big, road graders old school power running game in the traditional sense is not at all what I'm talking about though when I say run first. There is of course zone run-play action schemes that build off rhythm and get to the edges to allow their one cut runners to get down hill. It's a ball control and tempo dictating offense. There is also RB diverse scheme game as an extension of the run mixed with power running and possession passing. Ultimately, it's about catering things to the strengths of your personnel. Few teams have both Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt. And as to those "2" teams.. 49ers, Seattle, Vikings, Raiders, Ravens, Dallas.. to name a few teams who build the offense off the run first and often achieve balance because run first means the defense has the instinct to come forward first because the run and pass games often look the same. There's no reason why we can build a play-action run first, diverse RB pass rhythm pace tempo offense allowing our passing game to be explosive. That we're doing a slow, methodical pass first no rhythm or tempo shotgun not under center offense with Chubb and Hunt is madness and if it is the "plan" those planning sh*t are awful. I'd rather think that Freddie is not actually planning it but it just happens in the moment that would at least mean he's not totally incompetent.
  14. We are implementing the revolutionary "Pass to Open Up the Run" Strategy. Up there in the annals of time along with the "Lose to Open Up the Win" Strategy. We have the Cardinals right where we want them...
  15. Young Arnold's been ballin with wild catches...
  16. I loved Arnold high point on the Saints in the pre-season and wished we got him on waivers.. Thought he'd get wild with the saints but got buried behind other players. Disappointed we didn't.. Forgot the Arizona Cardinals got him... That's what he does
  17. I don't disagree that we've been doing it all year... I'm just saying that just because it's a trend does mean it arises from strategic, sound planning whereby the goal is to "Open up the run via the pass." It's more likely a pattern arising from incompetent play-calling rather than purposeful planning behind some magical pass to help the run strategy. In this game's case, I do believe the runs worked not because we are pass first, but because we're down 14 points. And against a team struggling on offense on the road (at home for the defensive coordinator), you prioritize the pass and the ball going over your head so you can prevent explosive plays.
  18. Freddie gotta get his shovel pass rocks off... .. been holdin that hut in for a long time..
  19. ... it's not planned. it's incompetence.. maybe the run works because their up 14 and don't want it thrown over there heads so the defensive coordinator is calling it accordingly...
  20. wait wait .. so you think our Plan is to open up the running game by being pass happy?? "Alright boys we got the two best RBs in the league... we're gonna open up them lanes by passin in the redzone and at the worst time.. they won't be expectin it.." Imagine... lol
  21. Startin to sound like my wife there... .. you bastard...
  22. "pass to open up the run" .... lol classic..
  23. hahahah... The Sloth offense is so impressive..
