Back in the day the NFL had.....The Tonawanda Kardex

The Oakland Raiders were almost called....The Senors

The first Oakland Raider RB to have a 1000 yard season was a cut Niner who had been a DB at Prairie View.

The great Johnny Unitas was cut by the Steelers.

Russell Wilson's 109 QB rating the best in NFL history in the 4th Q.

The great Gale Sayers had an older bro faster than he was.

Walter Payton had a bro in the NFL.

Christian McCaffrey had a grandpa faster than anyone playing today.

Jerry Rice's nickname at MVS...World.

A HS team from Tennessee had an undefeated, unscored on season, and, nobody crossed the 50 yard line on them that season.

The Dallas Cowboys almost called .....The Rangers.

RC Owens a Niner WR who had played basketball in college, once blocked a FG standing under the crossbar, yep, just jumped up and swatted the ball down.

Georgia Tech 222 Cumberland 0

Texas Southern (beat Hayes in a 200m) sprinter Homer Jones the first player to run back a KO to score on MNF. the first to spike a football, yep, the daddy.

College All Star teams beat NFL Champs.

There have been at least 20 Olympians play NFL football.

He also played in the Canadian Football League. He is the older brother of the late Chicago Bears player Walter Payton.

Gotcha. Please post more about the past in regards to these little things that most of us didn't know (i.e The great Gale Sayers had an older bro faster than he was). I'm older and a Bears fan and I didn't know that. I personally always enjoy reading these type of things.

Jesus. Roger Sayers was clocked at 10.2 in 100m in 1962. That would have been good for #2, possibly #1, in the Olympics during that time. Hell, that was even still challenging Usain Bolt nowadays even after the advancement of technology.

Actually a 10.2 hand time is 10.44 electric, that is a long ways from Bolts 9.58. But....in 62 Roger was one of the 5/6 fastest sprinters in the world.

Yeah I get Bolts time being faster and I is no doubt the fastest man ever on record. But what I'm saying is, they didn't have the technology to enhance physical endurance and such in the 60's as they do now. So relatively speaking it is comparable.
