2019 Offseason Preview/FA Rumors

Why are people all upset. We are the Jets what do you expect. I have been a jet fan for 35 years and they are a team that breaks your heart time and time again. This is just more to add to the pile of IF. I really don't even care about Bell anymore. This guy is playing us just like Paradis and Barr. I hope we stay strong and give Bell until midnight and the offer is off the table and we have moved on. I would keep Crowell for this year and draft a RB at some point. I would then look at Sullivan at center and take Bosa or Allen at 3 unless we get a MASSIVE deal to move down.

Your point is in essence saying that a great wr is pointless. And I can’t agree with that. Your in essence saying you’d rather Robby, Enunwa, Crowder than Julio, Ridley and Sanu. For starters I think Atlanta’s issue was coaching not talent. And I do think it helps a QB. A ball gets lobbed up to Julio is he not gonna catch it at a higher rate than that if Enunwa? Does that not build a QBs confidence? Which in turn helps him develop?

I think the point is that the elite WR, while over the course of a season, will put a great stats.  Its the trenches, scheme and defense that can make a big stop that wins the big games.  Think this past SB is a great example of that point.  Brady did not win that game for NE.  The D and game plan that totally stiffed the Rams O won that game.

You're forcing Adams into a box here, suggesting that he's "just" a SS. You see, the value of defense is many of these players play multiple positions, so it's nearly impossible to label him that way. And I'm sure there are honestly more upper echelon SSs on that list than WRs.

Either way, you're argument keeps falling on its face. I get it, you like offense. You want us to be the next KC or LAR show. It's not happening right now. Doesn't mean we can't be a good football team without a 40 pt offense.

Same can be said for WR. Is Tyreek Hill not more than just a WR? He can be moved all over. STs. Etc.

But their golfing SB Sunday evening if they didn’t have a great offense.

Going by ratios, and the original example I used was "6" superstars, hence I would prefer 2 defensive superstars to 1 offensive one.

I just have missed that post. Why is this a ratio your using?

Actually their D played a great game vs the Saints.  Scoring was down in the playoffs vs the reg season across the board.  That is D, scheme and coaching.  Kinda like great offensives in MLB that get stifled by pitching in the playoffs.  Even the greatest show on turf had hiccups in the SB>

Hey we used Cro as a specialist in our playoff runs. Lol

That was awesome.

I think I am way more concerned about who is going to play center on this team than I am about Bell. Bell isnt doing anything behind this line. Paradis gave us a chance at a decent line.

But if medicals were a concern then they did the right thing.  Fill it another way.

Doesn’t change my stance bc NE arguably isn’t making even the playoffs if they have an average offense.

Oh and by the way...

  • 2018: Patrick Chung
  • 2017: Malcolm Jenkins
  • 2016: Chung
  • 2015: TJ Ward
  • 2014: Chung
  • 2013: Kam Chancellor
  • 2012: Bernard Pollard
  • 2011: Kenny Phillips
  • 2010: Nick Collins
  • 2009: Roman Harper

So pretty much only Chancellor as a “difference” maker.
