I feel like the negative reaction isn't even in that Blue isn't really a good RB. It's about what it means for crowding the depth chart with junk. Sure, if he's your 3rd or 4th RB that's alright i guess, if you've got some good horses in front of him. He's cheap and that fine. But at this point...it's like they're loading up on bargain junk like Rawls and Blue, plus Fournette who has proven tough to rely on...meaning there's really only 1 roster spot left for a RB. Presumably a draftee. But it means...if/when Fournette goes down again, you're prospectively looking at Rawls+Blue as your starting RB tandem, which is absolute trash. Neither is as good as Yeldon even. Or hoping your rookie rides in to the rescue. Or making another moronic panic trade for a Carlos Hyde in-season, instead of pro-actively finding a solid #2RB in free agency where guys like that don't break the bank. There's nothing wrong with collecting some cheap bottom of the depth chart filler. But when you start filling out too much of your depth chart and 53 man roster with that...it raises concerns. Cant go into the season with just 3 How do you just let all sorts of decent veteran RBs slide right by you in Free Agency that you're left trying to scramble and collect guys like this to staff the roster before the draft though? Like yeah, just like last year where some of us were saying, "Fournette/Yeldon/Grant" isn't good enough if you want to run the ball like that...this year it's like they've decided to avoid that debacle repeating by just making sure they've patched that 4th RB spot with someone better that whats-his-nuts who was completely hopeless out of camp last year. By getting like 3 #4RBs. Even though our #2RB appears to be walking as a FA, and our #3RB last year is probably broken and done and also leaving as a FA.
