JBURGE
2019 Season Summary The Bills finish the 2019 season a dissapointing but fair 3-13. That means coach didn't meet his goal for the year, but in the first year of the rebuild, my job is safe. Below are the season stats for both the players and the team. 2019 BUFFALO BILLS PLAYER STATS OFFENSE pro bowl PASSING PASS YDS PASS TDS INT COMP % QBR award winner QB JOSH ALLEN 3,635 21 14 53 75.0 led team RUSHING ATT RUSH YDS RUSH TD YPC leads nfl RB DEVIN SINGLETARY 198 696 2 3.5 rookie QB FRANK GORE 119 546 4 4.6 RECEIVING REC REC YDS REC TDS AVG WR JOHN BROWN 76 923 6 12.1 WR ROBERT FOSTER 55 822 3 14.9 TE DAWSON KNOX 67 740 7 11.0 WR ZAY JONES 65 622 3 9.6 RB DEVIN SINGLETARY 31 377 0 12.2 DEFENSE - - TAK (TFL) SAK INT FF / FR TD MLB TREMAINE EDMUNDS 135 (10) 2.0 3 0/0 0 CB TRE'DAVIOUS WHITE 98 0.5 6 1/0 0 CB LEVIN WALLACE 79 0.0 3 1/1 0 DE LORENZO ALEXANDER 62 (16) 14.0 0 0/0 0 DT ED OLIVER 53 (15) 5.5 0 1/0 0 Tremaine Edmunds starring in this defense actually made the Pro Bowl, and we will see in a minute that he actually won an award as well... As previously mentioned, Zay Jones despite being the #1 WR didn't really put up the numbers I was hoping for, but that's ok. I'm not a big Zay guy, so this doesn't really upset me. Josh Allen ended the year with a 53% completion %....... yeah. The first half of the year I had Frank Gore as RB1 which was a mistake, hence his production. Singletary really struggled, but honestly the OL is pedestrian and as a whole the offense sucks. 2019 BUFFALO BILLS TEAM STATS OFFENSE PPG TOTAL YDS PASS YDS RUSH YDS PASS TD RUSH TD ALL-P YDS 15.3 4976 3664 1312 22 8 6321 31st 29th 28th 27th 28th 32nd 27th DEFENSE PPG TOTAL YDS PASS YDS RUSH YDS SACKS INT FUMBLES 24.9 6161 4318 1843 30 15 2 23rd 32nd 28th 30th T20th T2nd T16th I decided to expand the team stats section this year, because this will be a good indicator of team progress. Then number under the stat indicates the league ranking, and I think the text colour is pretty self explanatory. This was not a good year at all for the team in really any category except INTs, which Tre White carried. Somehow the Vikings actually had a lower PPG than we did, which is impossible, so it could have been worse I guess!

Much cleaner to read imo in conferences rather than divisions. Green box indicates I have that team's 1st round pick in the upcoming draft. Clearly this was the kind of year we were looking for, because I definitely wanted the #1 overall pick. Unfortunately that trade to the Jags worked out pretty well, because I will be picking pretty late from their pick, but hard to complain when I have #1. Definitely some surprised here.... the Bengals making the playoffs is shocking, same with the Redskins. Browns and Jags with the Byes is hilarious. Singletary is shocking as well with only 700-2. Levi Wallace had 3 picks, hard to see that being the best defensive rookie stats, but ok. Tre White had 6 picks and that's basically all Madden cares about for best DB. Drew Brees and the Saints basically swept the awards lol which isn't surprising, considering the Saints have 4 X Factors. Time to sim the playoffs and start the offseason!
JBURGE
The New England Patriots defeat the New Orleans Saints in Superbowl 54 31-13. BOTH Tom Brady and Drew Brees decide to retire after the game, and are sure to be first ballot HOFs. Other notable retirements include Jason Witten, Adrian Peterson and Adam Vinatieri. JBURGE
2020 NFL DRAFT I'm going to do this a bit different than past years as well. First we will go over the board and my strategy, and then we will go pick by pick through the draft with different options that I'm looking at. Once I get to round 4, I likely won't have long descriptions as my board will have faded significantly. So this is my draft board. It may look a little out of order, but there is a method to my madness. These are my picks. BILLS PICKS 1.1 3.31 1.27 4.12 2.1 4.24 2.2 5.1 3.1 6.1 3.18 7.1 Now, the players in the first grouping are the players I am targeting. After those few UDFAs are players I will take if the board doesn't fall the way I want it to. The CPU seems to be pretty good at detecting talent this year, so I will likely have to draft quite a bit ahead of where the guys I want are projected. Currently I have 1.1 and I will get into that in a minute. The 1.27, 2.1 and 2.2 spots are really interesting. There are a handful of guys I LOVE in the 2nd, in the first grouping above, but they are all early 2nd projected. I doubt I will be able to get more than 1 of them at those 3 picks, so I am strongly considering moving up from 1.27 to make sure I get someone I really covet.... which would be one of the three other 1st round guys, CB Pearson and the two OL McBride and Armstead. I need to rebuild this OL, and Ontarius Pearson is a corner you don't see too often, being strong in both coverages and is a super athlete. This is a very bad class for linebackers and pass rushers, but there are a few pass rushers I like, Baxter being the first. WRs are all top end talent and not much else, so I am hoping to be able to get Leon Carswell at the top of the 2nd. Enough talking, let's begin the draft! The first pick, honestly, isn't much of a discussion. I said that my #1 target for this draft will be a QB, and there is only ONE QB who has 1st round talent. Luckily, said QB also ran a 4.55 at the combine. Without further ado, with the 1st overall pick in the 2020 NFL draft, the Buffalo Bills select..... Wesley Killian, QB, Wisconsin Now, this is the easiest way I found to show the prospects. I tried making a chart and got too frustrated so this is what we're going with. Wesley is currently a scrambling QB out of Wisconsin, but you can see he is not far off in the other archtypes. I will likely develop him as either an improviser or a field general, and I'm not concerned about rushing him. I will focus train him year 1 and hopefully get him up to a mid 70s of one of those archetypes, and likely higher if he is able to win any awards. He is a lower overall hidden dev, so that is a very good sign. I am hoping for an X Factor obviously, Superstar would be great with the chance to progress, and star would be a let down. We will check back in with his progress about mid way through the year. Also, he has 85 speed, since that isn't shown. Now, this selection makes Josh Allen expendable. We will see if he can be moved on draft night to a QB needy team. Edited August 11, 2019 by JBURGE
JBURGE
At pick #7, WR Craig Pitts goes to the Chiefs. He is an 82 overall wideout, which may be the highest overall rookie I have seen this year in 10+ drafts. Wow. As if the Chiefs needed any more weapons...... Why are they picking 7th anyway??? We are holding fast. The Titans are coming up at the 10th pick, and they are a natural option for me to move Josh Allen to. The Giants and Cardinals before them wouldn't make any sense. If CB Ontarius Pearson makes it to 10, I will explore options to move up. _________________________________________ And Pearson goes 9th to the Cardinals, damnit. He is 72 overall, but I want to see the athletic numbers on him. McBride and Armstead aren't projected to go until the late 1st, so I will go ona little longer here. Late teens and I might be interested in moving up. _________________________________________ I had a major brain fart. LT Denton Mooney, who is in the 2nd group of players, was supposed to be in the top group. He just went #11 to the Texans, but he is an absolute stud LT. 77 overall and I will check his development later this season. _________________________________________ Eli Armstead just went at 18 to the Ravens. The Lions are on the clock, and I am going to try to make a move. TRADE BILLS RECEIVE LIONS RECEIVE 1.19 QB JOSH ALLEN 78 2.51 2.34 2021 4th Goodbye Josh Allen, you suck. The Lions have Stafford who is 32, and a 78 overall. Josh Allen is a 78 overall too and significantly younger. We swap 2nds and I add a 2021 4th, so they get Allen for less that the value of 1.19, which is pretty solid for them. He's just not my kind of QB. I kind of spoiled who I will be taking with this pick, so I'll get right to it. With the 19th pick in the 2020 NFL draft, the Buffalo Bills select, Devon McBride, OT, Oregon What a banger! I am very glad I moved up. Now, Devon isn't the strongest dude, but he is an ideal LT in today's NFL. He has excellent finesse blocking, and he is an incredible athlete. He tested 1st in all combine exercises at his position except bench press, where he was rpetty average. He will step in and start day 1 at left tackle, and I will slide Dion Dawkins over to RT, depending on what the rest of this class looks like. Drafting OL in Madden 20 is a lot harder than it has been for a few years. I used to draft OL in the 4th-7th rounds and be able to have them upgraded in a year or two to be a good OL..... not anymore. Moving on to my next pick at 27th overall... We will see who's there. I may end up moving back from one of the next two picks if I can acquire some solid draft capital next year. Here are the players we're watching as we move forward. JBURGE
I simmed ahead to my next pick at 2.1. No conerns about my main target here going. Foote, Knorr nd May are all here. I do need a pass rusher, and Foote and Knorr look to be decent, but in my experience it is difficult to get a good pass rusher outside the top guys in this game. i'm sure they will be good, but I see a player who will have more of a day 1 impact, and he fits the threshholds I look at at his position. With the 33rd overall pick in the 2020 NFL draft, the Buffalo Bills select... Cortez May, RB, Maine Well this is the first of many kicks in the nuts. Athleticism is incredible, but he didn't turn out as good as I was expecting, and the normal hurts. Looks like I found ym 3rd down back, but we will have to see how he does this year to know if he is worth anything down the line. The 83 carrying hurts, I expect a lot of fumbles. With the 51st overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, the Buffalo Bills select... Joe Sandridge, OT, Arizona State Another beauty pick. As a 4th round player, this is the latest I've hit on an OL this year. I'm not sure yet where he will play, but you an be sure he will start next year. Only Morse's spot is truly safe at this time. Dawkins will likely have a spot, but he could be moved inside. Firing through these picks now. With the 65th overall pick in the 2020 NFL draft, the Buffalo Bills select... Michael Younger, TE, South Carolina This probably looks really bad, but this is the best draft I have had BY FAR on this game. Younger had a great combine, solid top3 skills, ad is 21. Those are the keys, I've just gotten extremely lucky. Now, I have 7 picks left, and 6 players on my tier 1 board. 3 of them are undrafted, and the other 3 are all 4th rounders. What I am going to do is look to move botjh of my 4ths for another 3rd rounder so I can try to get my guys. TRADE BILLS RECEIVE BUCS RECEIVE 3.78 1.27 OG WYATT TELLER 75 I actually couldn't make the two picks work, so I'll eat some value on this trade. Wyatt would be my swing IOL with the two new rookies coming in, so he is expendable. I keep my later 4th by moving Wyatt, so it's likely I draft a late round OL to replace him. Harvey Dupree, mid round safety, actually goes one pick before me. WOW. I trade up for nothing lol. With the 78th overall pick in the 2020 NFL draft, the Buffalo Bills select... Jay Elliot, DT, Washington State With the 108th overall pick in the 2020 NFL draft, the Buffalo Bills select... Kendall Kerr, WR, Wyoming I almost didn't take this kid, and I only did because the other safety went off the board. Lucky! I'll have to find ways to get him on the field so we can see his development, even though it's likely star. With the 129th overall pick in the 2020 NFL draft, the Buffalo Bills select... Bryan Halladay, FB, BYU With the 161st overall pick in the 2020 NFL draft, the Buffalo Bills select... His block ratings are in the 60s which are actually solid for a receiving TE. 12 hours ago, JBURGE said: With the 78th overall pick in the 2020 NFL draft, the Buffalo Bills select... Evan Beal, S, Indiana State Sub 90 speed and can't tackle. He's going to need some work. Looks like a career backup to me. 12 hours ago, JBURGE said: With the 82nd overall pick in the 2020 NFL draft, the Buffalo Bills select... Jay Elliot, DT, Washington State 77 strength is almost unplayable at DT. 66 OVR with normal dev, this guy might not make your roster. 12 hours ago, JBURGE said: With the 108th overall pick in the 2020 NFL draft, the Buffalo Bills select... Kendall Kerr, WR, Wyoming This looks like a great pick. Good speed and hidden dev. You can probably develop him into a solid #2 WR after a few years. 12 hours ago, JBURGE said: With the 129th overall pick in the 2020 NFL draft, the Buffalo Bills select... Bryan Halladay, FB, BYU Do you use a FB? I usually just carry 4 TEs. The FBs in the game are usually garbage. Every TE is usually better than any FB.
