apparently i cannot change a players position... this is a setback.

hoping the depth chart is forgiving, at least.

Usually, unless it's different for that year's version, there's a time in the offseason that you CAN do this (after recruiting and before cuts). This is usually when I take my tallest/slowest/biggest WR and try to convert him to TE. Sometimes it works, and sometimes he regresses and I have to cut him. I also often times will convert my 3rd TE who is slow to FB, or take an OLB and convert them to DE...or convert a CB to S or S to CB.

Fair warning though, position changes in NCAA will butcher a player's AWR.  If you're going to do a position change it should be done to an incoming Freshman so that they can rebound from the AWR hit.  Also I would recommend reshirting them.

If you have an upperclassman that you want to change, say like a OLB that you want to play DE, you're better off leaving them as a OLB and just placing them at DE in the depth chart rather than changing their position.

It depends on the position for Awareness IMO. If it's a DB's awareness (or LB as well), it's a HUGE deal, but if it's a QB/RB/WR, it's not at all, as they're going to run routes that are preset for them.

I wonder how much AWR affects simulation vs stats like ball carrier vision and play recognition.

Edit: or any position for that matter. does AWR just make everything a little bit better? I remember a youtube video where PRC was really good for players to help them not bite on play action and react to passes, I don't know what awareness would do if not exactly that.

anybody know?

I'll get a recruiting board up tonight. Targeting Idaho and Utah heavily, gathering the flock. If I can make some of these local guys stars I'm gonna do it.

Man, I stayed up late last night looking through a ****pile of recruits.... I just have no idea what I'm looking for. I'm just gonna have to add some to the board and see what happens.

When it comes to DEFENSE, AWR is much more important, for things like play recognition, pass drops/coverages, not biting on PA, reaction time, etc. It's also important on picking up blitzes/who to block on the OL.

For WR, RB, and QB, it's not important at all (minus the hilarious Madden Vision cone that they abolished) unless you are going to simulate.

You'd be best off sorting through interest level from those recruits first and adding the most interested to your board immediately. Recruiting athletes with speed and size (in that order) is usually a good starting point.

Alright, I'll do that for Week 1.

Typically, if you aren't in the Top 5, MAYBE the Top 10 by Week 1, you don't have a chance at landing them. I usually sort by interest and then recruit the best that are the most interested EARLY ON in these dynasties, and then from there, I recruit the best.

I think I am.

Ah, then awareness may very well be more critical then. I'd recommend playing the tough games or you may get boat raced.

There's my recruit board. Mostly just guys that had me in their top 3... added two 5 star recruits from my biggest positions of need, we'll see what happens.

Edit: Utah and Cali are my pipeline states apparently. I think that means recruiting is easier there. I wish I had gotten Texas lol.

I'm not gonna redshirt anyone my first year unless y'all advise against that. I want to see if anybody makes a name for themselves this year and test the Sim computer with lots of different players.

I'll get a scheduled built here in a bit. Gonna go for a cupcake schedule I think. We'll see how that treats us in our first year while things are set to easier settings anyways.
