Woodley as a free agent, former champion, who has some "beef" with him after the incident at the Askren fight makes sense for all parties. If he were going to fight a MW on the roster it'd have to be approved by the UFC and I don't think Dana has any interest in doing business with Jake Paul. Askren was technically still under contract when he took the fight but the UFC didn't care because he was retired. Woodley said he's walking around at 200 pounds and he seemed to cut a ton of weight to make 170, he probably could've fought at 185 in the UFC.
