Rank every division's QB situations: NFC West

Recommended Posts

Hoping to get some detailed discussion comparing the QB rooms in each division in the coming months, maybe one per week. Finally, the NFC West.

Arizona Cardinals: Kyler Murray, Brett Hundley, Drew Anderson, Chris Streveler
Los Angeles Rams: Jared Goff, John Wolford, Josh Love, Bryce Perkins
San Francisco 49ers: Jimmy Garoppolo, CJ Beathard, Nick Mullens, Broc Rutter
Seattle Seahawks: Russell Wilson, Geno Smith, Anthony Gordon

How do you rank these rooms heading into the 2020 season?

Seattle (Head and Shoulders above everyone else)

Arizona. Kyler looks very promising as a future Franchise QB

SF/LA Tied for 3rd. I think Goff and Jimmy G are relatively interchangeable.

1) Wilson- Easy. No debate. Elite QB.

2) Garoppolo- Had a very good year last year. He's a good starter, but not elite. Still room to improve. I'd be willing to bet he'll be the 2nd best QB in the NFCW next season, though Murray def has a lot of untapped potential.

3) Murray- He had an excellent rookie year, and has all the tools to become a franchise QB. Still, he's only in his 2nd year, and has to take the next step to be on the level of Garoppolo. I wouldn't be surprised if he does, but I had to play it safe. If we were going long-term, I'd have to go with Murray based on potential alone, but for next season it's Garoppolo.

4) Goff- he had a down year last year, and that's hard to ignore especially given the system he plays in. He's a capable starter, but I'm not sure he'll ever be a bonafide top-10 QB. Murray had a better year last year, and I expect him to take another step to becoming a fringe top-10 QB next year while Goff lingers closer to middle of the pack.
