theJ
Later i'll have to post the formal chart, but things are not going well at the All-Star break. The Magic have something like the 5th best point differential in the league, but 14th best record. I seem to win by a lot, and lose by a little. It's frustrating. 3rd year in a row. So i made some pretty drastic changes to the coaching sliders. This team has always played really well defensively, and rebounded really well, even though i focus most of the coaching on offense and fast breaks. I'm going to reverse that and lean into the defense/rebounding. We're going to try and choke the life out of every team - slow down the game and crush them on the boards. I'm figuring Burke and McGuire will get theirs still and the offense will be good enough. We'll see how it works.
theJ
I forgot to grab all the standings at the All-Star Break. I was too excited to try to my new coach settings apparently. As you can see below though, the switch in strategy has really benefited the team. 12-2 since the All-Star break. Only team better at this point is the Bobcats. theJ
Oh, and Dale Burke made the All-Star team again on a down year. He's shooting really poorly.
theJ
Big improvement this season, i think mostly due to the coaching changes. I'll definitely keep those mostly the same going into next season. 2016-17 Team Stats 2017-18 Team Stats Number League Rank Number League Rank Record 44-38 12th 51-31 7th Off Pts/Game 105.1 9th 103.1 9th Def Pts/Game 101.9 15th 95.8 2nd APG 24 9th 23.2 13th RPG 50 3rd 50.4 2nd SPG 7.3 9th 6.9 13th BPG 6.4 9th 6.6 7th TOPG 14.4 9th 13.8 11th 2017-18 Season Awards MVP Kyrie Irving Bobcats ROY Dale Stanley Spurs 6th Man Eric Bledsoe Magic DPOY Dwight Howard Hawks Most Improved Monty Booth Warriors COY Sebastion Hale Spurs 2017-18 Season Player Stats Position Name PPG RPG APG SPG BPG SF Dale Burke 20 7.9 2.6 1.3 1 PG Marty McGuire 17.9 4.5 7 1.5 0.4 SG Tracy King 12.3 4.1 4.5 1.1 0.6 C Meyers Leonard 12.2 8.1 0.5 0.8 1.6 PF Chad Elliott 10.1 8.4 1.6 0.4 1.2 PG Eric Bledsoe 8.5 2.6 4.9 0.9 0.2 PF Markieff Morris 7.4 5.1 0.2 0.3 0.7 SG Vin Hill 7.3 1.9 1.2 0.5 0.4 Vin Hill made 1st team all rookie On to the playoffs! theJ
Oh and i didn't post a scouting update because i'm not sure i'll have a pick at all this year. The Nuggets finished in 9th, so their pick is worthless. I'll probably gamble on another future for next year, leaving me with zero picks this season. I'll still post the top prospects during the offseason though.
theJ
Of course Chad Elliott would break his hand in the last game of the season. He can play through it, but he's really limited. That sucks.
theJ
It's a rematch with the Pistons. This time i'm the 2 seed and they're the 7.

PG - Brandon Knight (86) SG - Bryant Henry (76) SF - Barry Payne (70) PF - Dwayne Coleman (91) C - Greg Monroe (86) We're kind of built opposite in that they rely on the front court, and i'm mostly backcourt. And yes, that's the same Dwayne Coleman that i passed on in favor of Chad Elliott.
theJ
Game 1 Game 2 Game 3 DET @ ORL DET @ ORL ORL @ DET 85 99 76 95 100 85 Game 4 ORL @ DET 101 99 It's a clean sweep! On to the Bulls, the 6 seed. This playoffs is full of rematches lol. Bulls starting lineup looks like this. PG- Derrick Rose (93) SG - Leroy Booker (90) SF - Luol Deng (75) PF - Taj Gibson (68) C - Joakim Noah (70) If i make it to the conference championship, i'll start doing game by game box scores. That's just a lot of work for 1st round and the semi's.
theJ
I love when i key up to simulate a game, my heart starts racing, and........the game interrupts it to tell me my scouts are done with their trip and need a new place to go.
theJ
Round 2 - Orlando Magic (2) vs. Chicago Bulls (6) Game 1 Game 2 Game 3 CHI @ ORL CHI @ ORL ORL @ CHI 95 110 82 110 78 81 Game 4 Game 5 ORL @ CHI CHI @ ORL 102 93 90 98 Revenge tour is complete! Detroit eliminated me from the 2015-16 players, and the Bulls eliminated me from the 2016-17 playoffs. Now, on to Charlotte (who i eliminated last season when they were the #2 seed). Might be a bit before you see those results. I want to come up with a relatively easy box score format to post, instead of just the scores. theJ
Bobcats roster PG - Kyrie Irving (93) PG - Kemba Walker (91) SF - Michael Kidd-Gilchrist (85) PF - Bismack Biyombo (77) C - Greg Oden (78) We're very similar teams. They were the #1 defensive team this season, and Irvin/Walker led them in scoring. I don't know which one of them plays SG since they're both listed as PG's only.
