theJ
We have a trade! Magic Chad Elliott Hornets Wilfred Bradford (PF) Ryan Anderson (PF) Updated roster below, with Bradford and Anderson's contracts, etc. Anderson may end up being a cut, since i have three draft picks (two firsts and one second). Bradford gives me a backup to the PF and C position. Also, i think McGuire is likely going to start regressing every offseason from here forward. I believe it's related to potential, since his potential rating went from B+ to B. theJ
Obviously my pick is outside of draft lottery. The 76ers ended up in the 16 spot. So i'll pick at 16, 29 and 59. Here's the updated draft board. This draft appears especially deep, so i should be able to find a mid-60's player with B- potential at the 16 spot. I'd also consider moving up to 10 or so if George Gatling is still available. My scouts indicate he's going to drop, for some reason. I have my doubts. theJ
Lastly for the night: Player Moves Pre-Draft Exercised team option for SG Vin Hill (3.40M) Exercised team option for C Oliver Gatling (608K) Extended qualifying offer to PF Scot Sheridan (1 / 3.72M) Allowed Markieff Morris, Kyle Lowry and Leonard Gray to hit FA Markeiff Morris and Leonard Gray wanted to re-sign, but i'm electing to let them go I hope someone offers Sheridan a deal, because he won't talk to me and i'd like to keep him around long-term. I have plans to get him a lot of PT going forward.
theJ
One more pre-draft trade to announce, then i'll get to the draft. Magic Ivan Jukic Ryan Anderson Wizards Edwin Soto (SG), 65 OVR, 1+2T contract, B- Pot Jukic wanted off the team anyway, and i think Anderson would have been a problem because he wanted a bigger role on the team. theJ
Wow, some real head scratchers early in this draft. Gus Bollard and Ronald Coles #1/2. I had them way down my board. Marcus Marion and Larry Anderson #6/7, also way down my board. I'd consider trying to trade to #10 if George Gatling makes it there.
theJ
Ah, Gatling and Bobby Houston go #8/9. Still have William Goodman and Chip Baylor out there, but i think i'll sit tight. I don't really want to trade up for those two gentlemen.
theJ
Wow, both Goodman and Baylor are still there are #14. Just need one more bad decision by the AI to land one of the best 5 players in the draft at #16.
theJ
Holy crap, the rich are going to get richer. Suns and Celtics went C Tommy Yates and SG William McDaniel at #14/15. I didn't even have them on my board. I'm going to take William Goodman. He's 6'11" and is a PF | C. I'm going to have to try to unload Meyers Leonard to get this guy on the court.
theJ
Chip Baylor finally went @ #20. Going to fast forward through, make my last two picks and get the draft results up in 5.
theJ
AI went full on crazy this time around. Goodman is a huge steal at this spot. Raptors had a good draft (#5 and #8). theJ
Well, i don't really need Scot Sheridan back now. But i think i'm probably better off long term signing him to a long deal as a Role Player, and trading away Meyers Leonard for w/e i can get for him. I'm probably going to have to eat a large contract for a 32 yo 65 OVR nobody, but that's fine. I need to get Goodman on the court ASAP. With that said: Free Agency Signed Scot Sheridan to 5 year, 30.01 deal as a Role Player (8+ MPG) Training Camps Sent Oliver Gatling to Rebounding Camp - +5 Off/Def Rebounding, now 76 OReb and 70 Def Reb (Now 52 OVR) Side note: i have something like 320 reward points, which is enough to send everyone on the team to a camp. The temptation is strong, but i'll leave those points on the board and keep stacking them up.
