A former All Pro ILB, McKinney needs surgery on his shoulder, which will cost him the remainder of the season.

The general feeling is that McKinney has played his last down as a Texan; Cutting McKinney nets out a $7mm cap savings, which will be a need next off-season; McKinney also represents a "BoB guy" that a new regime will look to part ways with.

If your team is in need of a two down tackle compiler... you could do worse. He's not worth his current contract, though.

The feeling on Texans radio is that his replacement did a great job on Sunday but that he will be missed big time in the 2 games against King Henry.

Oh, Henry was going to have his way against the Texans no matter who was starting. DJ Reader was the guy who made the run defense what it was, neither McKinney or Zach Cunningham can get anything going without a big NT occupying the middle.

Not that the Texans have much draft capital, but a run stuffing/block eating NT is a high priority (unless the Texans go from a 34 to 43 with the new coaching staff...)
