Not a lot here but here's the quick snapshot:

- He wouldn't really commit to any questions about specific players or who will be back.  He did have high praise for Brandon Scherff later on.

- About the GM search he said he and Snyder will sit down this week and start the discussion about that.

- Regarding Alex Smith, he kind of said its Alex's health that could keep him from continuing to play.  He also hinted that Alex's injury is worse than we have been made to believe.  Also later on he was asked about replacing Alex Smith's leadership he didn't rebuke with saying Alex could return.

- Regarding his own health, he has a major scan at the end of the month that will provide clarity of how well his chemo worked.

- He was asked if he expected any major staff changes, he said a very adamant no.  He had very high praise for Scott Turner, so for those that aren't a fan he isn't going anywhere.

- Rivera has been using the phrase "On the Way Up" as the slogan in the organization.  They obviously believe this year was the first step into becoming respectable.  I really liked his discussion here, he made it very apparent that they didn't feel like they had accomplished their goal here, the goal is to win the Super Bowl.

- He took some slight shots at the refs for bad calls last night.

- He said he had several veteran Washington players tell him this was the most fun they've had on a team in a long time, and really appreciated how the focus was on football all year and not turning into a circus like Washington is prone to do.

- He talked about how the team really came together after taking down the undefeated Steelers.

- When asked specifically about the defense he acknowledged there were positions on that side of the ball that need to be upgraded.

- He said a major difference from here to Carolina was that he's spending a lot more time "managing the organization" is the way he put it, rather than just doing x's and o's coaching.

Great Cliff Notes!

“Managing the organization” is a hilarious quote. Dan Snyder is literally a petulant child who needs to be managed.

Now that they have some sort of executive structure with Jason Wright at the top on the business side and hopefully a new GM on the football side, Rivera can focus on his team and the product on the field.

I probably misquoted there.  He was referring to the football side only.  I think he meant that he was involved a lot more in the day to day scouting reports, free agent discussions, etc. than he was used to.  Considering he's essentially the GM right now that makes sense.
