It's foolish IMO to refuse to upgrade a position because you've been winning but you never know if it's going to be an upgrade until they actually play

The question isn't if you try to upgrade. It's how you try to upgrade. It's foolish to jettison a QB who is playing winning football without any assurances you can replace him. That's how you end up losing your job. Look at what the Chiefs did. That's how you try to upgrade. You don't cut or trade Alex Smith before you have Patrick Mahomes on the team.

Players can play losing football in wins too. Those players should definitely be upgraded

The modern NFL's history isn't littered with a lot of QBs who played losing football for years at a time and still won.
