It's how you try to upgrade. It's foolish to jettison a QB who is playing winning football without any assurances you can replace him. That's how you end up losing your job. Look at what the Chiefs did. That's how you try to upgrade. You don't cut or trade Alex Smith before you have Patrick Mahomes on the team.
