Dome
Saints extend RT Ryan Ramczyk. He signs a 4 year extension, locking him up for the next 5 years on an $87 million contract with $51 million guaranteed at signing (2021-2023 base, signing bonus, and roster bonuses all are guaranteed). This contract ranks 2nd for all RTs and 4th for OTs. The 59% guaranteed ranks highly among OT contracts as well and No Trade/No Franchise clauses ensure that Ramczyk is in control of his future. Dome
Lattimore signs an extension that earns him $86,744,000 over the next five seasons. This contract gives the Saints a decent exit strategy after just two seasons, but a great time to leave this contract after Year 3. The average is probably a bit more than Lattimore is worth (it makes him the 3rd highest paid CB in the league), but the low guarantees and bonuses give the Saints flexibility to trade Lattimore later, or cut him outright if worst case scenario occurs. Dome
On 3/9/2021 at 8:54 AM, Dome said: Saints trade Emmanuel Sanders and a conditional pick to Washington Football Team for both of their 7th round picks in 2021. WFT has the option to restructure Sanders to save $2.5m this year, pushing another $2.5m into the void year on his deal. He'll be a great option behind McLaughlin and Thomas, for whoever they decide to play at QB this season. If Sanders is cut before Week 1 of the 2021 regular season the Saints send a 2022 7th round pick back to WFT. Going to undo this, seeing as the IRL trade market for Sanders was non-existent. I'm going to keep him on the roster for now. I have a few days to get under the cap still.

Good looking out. Still undecided on what to do with Emmanuel Sanders and Latavius Murray, I guess it depends on what happens in the draft. I'm a little surprised the IRL Saints couldn't move Sanders for a 7th, he played well and was very reliable (best catch rate of his career). I'm probably going to extend Marcus Williams to bring his cap hit down for some breathing room. I was hoping the Saints would be on that announcement this spring/summer so I had a baseline to work with or could decide if a tag and trade would be in the works. I'm also still toying with the idea of shipping out Terron Armstead if I can find a fanbase that likes him for a late 1st or early 2nds + late picks. That's a tall order, but he's one of the best left tackles in the game and he's still just 29 years old. We've seen teams give up big picks for less. sparky151
This year especially, it might be hard to get fair trade value for expensive players. Orlando Brown is on the market and Fisher and Swartz were just cut by the Chiefs. So you won't get a Tunsil type deal for Armstead or Ramczyk.

Dome
Like the Emmanuel Sanders trade, I'll reverse the Malcolm Brown trade. The Pats fans I saw saying they'd like to trade for and extend Brown for a late pick where not seeing things the way BB was. If Malcolm had gone somewhere for even a 7th I would've kept the trade for the sake of fun in this mock, but that wasn't the case. Dallas' 6th round pick has been returned to the Patriots. I've cut Malcolm Brown for now. May look to re-sign him if he doesn't get picked up.
Dome
I'm going to just sit tight through free agency. I'm feeling OK keeping Emmanuel Sanders for another year, or at least until after the draft I could designate him a post june 1 cut... I only want to restructure Taysom if Ramczyk or Lattimore sign IRL and I'm WAY off and need to adjust their salaries. Kamara can be restructured, Murray can be restructured or cut, Armstead could be extended/restructured or traded too. Trequan could be traded as well if I decide to keep Sanders another year. So I have a little bit of breathing room.

I was attempting to be fair and realistic by undoing my mock trade when it was reported that the Saints couldn't trade him and had to cut him. Now that he has been traded rather than cut IRL I'm going to give myself the chance to use a redo. I'll say my cutting of Brown was misreported, like it was IRL, and take the Jags picks when the official trade is announced.
