Ugh, the guy who came in for him looked lost. Completely blew his coverage allowing Robby Anderson to be wide open. 

Ashtyn Davis is still weeks away from returning, so this sucks.

This is my understanding, but Joyner for whatever reason has almost always been pigeon holed into a NCB role. Coming out of FSU he screamed FS to me, had that very solid year with the Rams as a FS. Raiders and early in his Rams career, I believe he played a lot more CB.

I think the Jets were going to let him run it as a safety, but admittedly haven’t kept up.

I felt the same thing! This decision to play him as a slot CB was based on height/weight/speed, but his instincts and perception were best suited as a deep S.

Oh well, hope he gets another crack at it, but we'll see.
