Why would he unretire to play with Bortles? Lol

Blackmon's rights for Calvin’s rights imo

Speculation is that he retired for the same reason Barry did; he just didn’t want continue to get injured just to play for a team that was going to spin their tires and go nowhere deeper than a first round exit.

Kinda weird that this team could be something that would be viewed as better than the Lions situation, but the hype around this defense is making a meteoric rise, and with the offense somehow being top 10 in yards and points, there’s probably hype on this team in general. Whether that would be enough to get Calvin out of retirement, and whether he would be worth that crazy contract after multiple years away, I’m not sure. But there’s been speculation that he’s been wanting to come back, just that he doesn’t want to come back if it means playing for the Lions.

TC must have some inkling whether he would come back to play for us or not.

It also could be that the inquiry was just to see whether the interest is there. Not sure what the rules on tampering would be under a case like this, but the rules might state that the Jaguars would have to inquire with the Lions before they could talk with Calvin or his agent. That inquiry itself could be enough to spark this report, while the results could be that the Lions or Calvin then nixed the idea from there.

Coughlin could just be doing his due dilligence with the ARob situation - attempting to find a replacement there. Calvin and ARob are similar style players, so that makes sense in that regard. Maybe they want a replacement for ARob this season, or maybe long term as they don’t see ARob coming back, so they’re exploring whatever options to find someone to take that spot.
