pf9
The 2000s decade (2000-2009) now has ended 13 years ago. Incidentally, 2009, the last year of the decade, was the year I graduated high school. More and more players who debuted before 2010 are retiring. Here's how many haven't announced a retirement yet that were active in 2021: Debut year: 2004: 2 2005: 4 (includes Aaron Rodgers) 2006: 3 2007: 4 2008: 10 2009: 14 A huge spike in the last two years of the decade. 2004-07 had 13 active debuted players in 2021 combined, while 2008-09 had 24. 2009 was significant as the last first-time visits by one team to another occurred that year. There had been a number of teams that never played in certain cities prior to 2002, or those that didn't visit a particular team for many years.
iknowcool
In my head, I was like who the heck is still playing that was drafted in 2004. I really thought Jason Peters would have retired a long time ago.
jonnguy2015
Would it be possible to get the names of these players?
paul-mac
2004 I believe is Jason Peters and Andy Lee 2005 - Rodgers, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Richie Incognito (who missed all of 2014 after bullygate and all of 2018 after some legal issues, which may be helping him keep his body going) and Dustin Colquitt. 2006 - Andrew Whitworth, Sam Koch, Marcedes Lewis 2007 - Matt Overton (Chargers Long Snapper), Adrian Peterson, Eric Weddle (Retired after 2020 season, came out of retirement for the current playoffs but has already announced he plans to retire again after the super bowl) and Nick Folk.
