When i think get younger, I assume the draft.. and they didn't lose any picks for going after JC.. and if they had tagged and traded him they would have gained more picks. I can understand the thought process of invest in the front 7 instead of paying top tier CB, but if the plan was to do that they had a couple years to try and find replacements. 

 

Unless they can find a couple decent CB's, im not sure how they could draft a front 7 player over a similarly talented DB

By hook or by crook, we absolutely need speed in the middle. I don't care if he's from the draft or FA, but we must get faster LBs

We can make up for the loss of JC by having a competent secondary, but a really good pass rush. We don't have a really good pass rush though, that's the issue lol

Hunter You said it better than I did. 👍.  Exactly, today's offenses are unstoppable without pressure that leads to mistakes. You give Allen a clean pocket there's no defense that can stop him.  His arm strength lets him hit small windows and if you play man, and the play breaks down he takes off while your DBs  are in chase mode with their backs turned.

I see the importance of the DB going in the way of the RBs. You need serviceable guys and replace they when needed. Also, it was a waste of money to pay Jackson that contract.  What will make it look like a great sighing is the other FA DL they just signed, plus Bosa and Davis in the draft. Jackson the best in the NFL!!!!!! Ya Ya Ya. When we all should know it was his DL.

No I'm not say JC is bad CB but he isn't half the player without DL and that's for every CB in the NFL.

I mean, What was the last team to win the Super Bowl with just “middle of the road” vets on defense? You need elite talent on that side of the ball
