Mini write ups

Miket

NONE

Mountain PD

43 defensive front with players easily flexible enough to shift to 34. Blitzing safeties and Corners on roster to attack QB

Picking 24 extremely lucky to still have Tua on board (top 10 qb 2022) then built offense around him full of speed and RPO offense. I feel the Oline put together is one of the strongest of all teams drafted even more so when Marpet come out of retirement ;) .

Really pleased with balance and value on some of the bench players

Team bcb

Multiple look run heavy offense with RPO and play action's.  Love our o line and two stud young RB.  Two te that are excellent blockers and receivers.  Move the chain offense that also can hit some big plays.  Can flex Gibson out from the backfield with his WR background with Ingold at RB to get some mismatches and lighten the box.  Davis gives us a big body in the end zone while shephard and Landry will paper cut you to death from inside slots in four wide

3-4 base defense.  Gaines off in long downs and distances for devasting duo of Watt and Bosa.  Gilmore and Jackson give me top flight corner play.  Chinn flies all over the field.  50-50 man zone put press coverage outside of cover three looks.  Two good young corners including a slot specialist in Rodgers.  Jackson comes into the slot in three wide with Fenton outside.  Chinn allows a star LB option with Joyner as a deep safety in certain sets against pas heavy two TE teams

Shoot. I got lost last week on work and forgot about the write up. I can do my argument here:

I have the best QB in the division, but he's had a year off. I think the good news is that he's going against two QBs that I've never been sold on. I'll be interested to see Elijah Mitchell outside of SF's system but I assume it'll be a good RPO one. I have Robinson (who I think is underrated) to thump, and Etienne to come back and do the exotic pass catching thing (Rondale Moore can get in on that fun too). My linebackers have the ability and speed to cover well. I do have questions about my defensive backs in this, but like I said, the QBs aren't sold to me.

To be fair, we can't even be sure how much Watson is even going to play this year

Yeah, I think so. But I thought I also read nothing was going to start until Feb 2023?

It's all over the map. Fioro thinks he could be suspended all year

CBS guy thinks half the year

Some think not til 2023.some think right away

The Trevor Bauer getting two years suspension thing could really muck up watsons 2022 season but no one knows

Let's be real. You put me as Washington. I'm doomed regardless 😁

This is actually probably the closest set of match-ups so far IMO. I'm voting for Mountain. I think even though I am not a huge fan of Tua, getting his actual WR that he has chemistry with in Waddle was a great idea. The offensive line is solid on the ends and at C, the guards are a bit of a question mark, but not enough that I would be worried with interior penetration consistently. I think his defense is well rounded. I think his dline is the best individual unit in this grouping and I think that would be hard group to stop on a consistent basis.

MikeT has the "best QB", but questions about if he will even be playing casts Tyrod Taylor into a potential starting role and that scares the heck out of me. If Deshaun is free and clear to play, this would be a lot closer. I think not only does MikeT have the best QB, but he also has the best WR in Ja'marr Chase. Besides Watsons availability I question his running game and offensive line durability. St. Brown and Dantzler were both players I tried to target that got swooped up before I could pick them and I think were good value. His defense is missing a game changer in the middle IMO and if his pass rush doesn't get home, he could be in trouble with his secondary.

BCB has the best RB group. If he is able to convert first downs consistently, this could be a cake walk for him. I'm not a big fan of Tannehill, but I think the WR core is pretty solid too. Then you add in Ertz and this is definitely a potent offense. Paired with a pretty solid O-Line they could put up some points if Tannehill doesn't blow chunks. The problem I have is with the defense. I'm not a huge fan of the groupings. I think his LB pairing is decent. Gilmore IMO is not a top caliber CB anymore and Jackson is average. Jeremy Chinn on the backside is pretty solid, but the grouping of Bosa (best DLineman) Autry (over achieved in a part time role) Greg Gaines (strictly a run stuffing NT) Watt (his health is just in the tank, really shouldn't be relied on) and Joe Tryon (probably the weakest link here) leaves a lot of question marks for me. I feel that if Bosa gets chipped or doubled, this Dline will be handled pretty easily against the pass.

All in all this was a really close division to judge.

i'll disagree pretty heavily on autry....29 sacks over 4 years with consistent production and played 750 snaps which is no where near part time, top 30 in the league for edges in snaps played (why pff has him listed as an edge is shrug).  May be the most underrated DL in the league.

Gaines is a NT which is how he's being used here, who won't be on the field in nickel

rest of those are subjective but I won't argue opinion based things

I guess for me with Autry is the fact he was healthy all season, started 11 out of 17 games (65%) and played 65% of the defensive snaps (this number is pretty consistent throughout his career), I saw him as a rotational player rather than a base starter. I understand the production has been there, especially this past season. I think he is probably tied for your second best dlineman (if Watt stays healthy) or could be the second best if Watt isn't 100%.

I wanted Autry as well as my rotational DE/DT, so I know the talent is there. Wasn't trying to knock the player. Hope that makes a little more sense.

Yea I wanted to take guys that could make me 3-4 but easily could move inside for 4-3 pass rushing. Felt Watt and Autry were perfect matches.  Hard to double Bosa with Watt next to him
