kingseanjohn
Happy with this signing. He’ll be a valuable rotational pass rusher.
onejayhawk
In addition to several things already noted, a few comments. Melvin Ingram was traded. He had no choice but to play for his first team's arch-rival. Ingram was not a Spagnuolo type build. He was an OLB playing out of position at DE. Dunlap is both a natural DE and has the length Spagnuolo likes. Dunlap turned down multiple offer to sign with the Chiefs. The Chiefs have some young DE--Dana and Kaindoh--who can learn a lot from Dunlap. Ingram’s done both at a fine level before leaving the Chargers. He had, debatably, the best year of his career as a defensive end under Gus Bradley. All three of his Pro Bowl nods were as a defensive end (all under Bradley), lined up opposite Bosa. Ingram does suffer from the T-Rex syndrome, though. That was really his biggest knock as a prospect. Clearly hasn’t stopped him from being a good player for almost a decade now, but yeah, not the usual Spags DE (although neither is Clark, really).
