I think the plan is obvious : run reverses and fake reverses with the two Ellingtons and try to confuse the announcers. If recall correctly, Bruce did sometimes line up in the backfield with the niners over the years. Not to run the ball, just as a decoy... because, you know... people were afraid of Bruce Ellington...
