It's not even really a discussion. Gonzo blocked when he had to. The Patriots sometimes would have entire gameplans where Gronk was used exclusively as a blocker because shoring up the line was more important that day than having him run routes. Gonzo is a better blocker than he is given credit for, but you probably didn't want to go into a game with the mindset of "Okay Tony is going to be on the line all day to stop the rush and that's going to be what gives our offense the chance to win". 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
MWil23 Posted May 3, 2023 Share Posted May 3, 2023 I'd have loved to have seen what Tony G. could have done with TB12 or Mahomes at the helm, and that's what makes threads like these more difficult than the surface would otherwise indicate.
