JBURGE
Coaching Change The Solar Bears have decided to part ways with their head coach Jacob Underwood. The intended replacement was JD Bickerstaff, but he spurned us, and so the new head coach of the Orlando Solar bears is Monty Williams. I really like Herbert Powers - he has good size, is young, good potential, and I have drafted a bunch of backup quality C's so far. He also seems to be relatively safe in this class. He is fairly bad on offense, but he is a good defender B+ interior defence and A+ rebounding. For some reason on the draft board is potential is A-, but when I click on his player card it is an A+, is this normal? PF Steve Kent is a good player with low badges again (and the badges are not good (Pro Touch and green Machine) - but he also has A+ potential on his player card, and he is a mediocre athlete. I don't think I could take him at 3, but could be a target at 9. SF Brent Spencer has 99 speed and 99 vert, but he sucks otherwise and is 22. Again might look at him at 9 in a weak class. If I wanted to play really small ball I could take Julio Campbell I guess, or he could just be a really good 6th man. I hope it doesn't come to that though. Let's get the draft started! think
JBURGE
The Hornets take PF Steve Kent 1st.. I am ok with that. .. and the Raptors take PG Julio Campbell 2nd! No need to post the available players again, this choice is easy. 1.3 / C / Herbert Powers Happy with this pick. I would have preferred to get a solid starting SF or PF, but I was missing a good C prospect. Powers has 4 badges - Backdown Punisher, Masher, Break Starter, and Boxout Beast. I think he steps in as a solid defender immediately, and with his potential hopefully grows into a competent offensive player. Simming to 9, here is what we're looking at. 2025 DRAFT PROSPECTS NAME SCHOOL AGE OVR POT BADGE HT WS WT INS MID 3PT INS D PER D PLAY REB IQ PHY PLAYER COMP CEILING / FLOOR 5 PG LOU EVANS COLORADO 19 73 C+ 7 6'5 7' 211 B C B- C- D+ A D+ B A- JO JO WHITE ALL-NBA / STARTER 7 C JOSH STARKS DUKE 23 76 C+ 3 6'10 7'1 257 B C D B+ D+ D- B D- A DEANDRE JORDAN ALL-STAR / STARTER 9 SF BRENT SPENCER UNLV 22 75 B 4 6'8 6'10 248 C+ D D+ C+ C- C- C+ C- A MARQUES JOHNSON ALL-NBA / BENCH 10 SG GIOGIOS NINIADIS GREECE 21 74 B 1 6'7 7' 199 B A- A+ C C- C+ D C- B- TERRY TEAGLE STARTER / BENCH 11 PG IRVIN COPELAND DUKE 22 75 B 4 6'1 6'4 163 A- C+ D+ C+ B- B C- C A+ STEVE FRANCIS ALL-STAR / BENCH 14 SF JUWAN TEMPLE COLORADO STATE 23 72 A- 6 6'7 7'1 234 A- D D C D+ D+ C D+ A BERNARD KING ALL-STAR / BENCH 21 SF ISTVAN SZERB PENN STATE 21 72 A 0 6'8 7'3 259 D+ C+ B+ C+ B- C- C+ C A- JOHN HAVLICEK HOF / BENCH Two positions I do not need right now are PG and C. I have nothing at SF and PF, and the options here are pretty grim. I am deciding between the three SFs. Spencer is a VERY good athlete (79 lateral quickness, 99 speed, 99 vertical), but otherwise he is pretty bad. B potential is mediocre, but he's already 22. He has 4 badges: Acrobat, Fast Twitch, Pro Touch, and Green Machine. This would be a hail mary in the hopes his potential is actually better than what it looks like. Temple is 23, but he comes with 6 badges and has A- potential. Badges are: Acrobat, aerial Wizards, Bully, Limitless Takeoff, Slithery, and Pogo Stick. He will be an immediate inside threat on offense, but he can't shoot worth a damn, and his defense is pretty weak. I hate drafting older players, especially since he is only 72 ovr, but he can at least do something. Istvan Szerb the boom or bust guy. He has A potential and a HOF ceiling, but a really low bench. He also has 0 badges. His offense is pretty weak, but he does have decent athleticism (81 lateral quickness, 91 speed, 89 vert). I think I will take the shot on the potential here. 1.9 / SF / Istvan Szerb What a great name too. I really do not need a PG, but Lou could end up being a 3 year 6th man - good playmaking and will develop as a shooter. I really like the profile Wally brings, classic 3 and D player immediately and can actually play some minutes as a rookie imo. My current slew of SGs is nothing to be impressed by. 1.26 / SG / Wally Wellington We will see if he has any chance to play this year. 2.7 / SF / Vladimir Toroman 2.13 / PF / Wes Levins Couple of shots in the dark here, don't know if either of these turds will make the roster. They have B- and C+ potential respectively (when I drafted them it said B+ each). Too many picks, moving the last 2. TRADE SOLAR BEARS RECEIVE BUCKS RECEIVE 2028 2nd (MIL) 2205 2ND 2029 2nd (MIL) 2025 2ND That wraps up another draft class. No superstars here, but I think the core is building out nicely. JBURGE
2025 Mid-Season Break The Solar Bears are currently sitting at 22-34, 4 games out of a playin spot. This team isn't competing, so I am going to try to fill up some draft picks. TRADE SOLAR BEARS RECEIVE MAVERICKS RECEIVE SG JORDAN CLARKSON 77 2/35M PG JD TURNER 81 1/3.9M 2027 1ST TOP 3 PROT (MAVS) I wasn't going to sign Turner long term with both Simpson and Perry. I turned around and flipped Clarkson for John Wall as he is an expiring contract, who I then cut. TRADE SOLAR BEARS RECEIVE MAVERICKS RECEIVE PF VLATKO CANCAR 73 1/2M C CHRISTIAN KELLY 78 1/7.1M 2030 1st (DAL) 2028 2nd (ORL) Same deal here, Kelly isn't getting any playing time and is on an expiring contract. Bye bye. Both of these trade were with the Mavs who are currently the 2nd worst team in the league next to the 76ers. I own Portland and the Pacers 1st round picks this year, and both are currently in playoff spots. Indiana has the 5th best record in the league, and Portland is the 15th. I have just had rotten luck. 2026 DRAFT PROSPECTS NAME SCHOOL AGE OVR POT BADGE HT WS WT INS MID 3PT INS D PER D PLAY REB IQ PHY PLAYER COMP CEILING / FLOOR 1 PG CLIFFORD WARREN GERMANY 19 74 B 6 6'2 6'8 194 B+ C+ A+ D+ A B+ C- B- A DONE BUSE STARTER 2 C CALVIN BLAKE SERBIA 21 78 B+ 3 6'11 7'6 235 B B+ D A D D+ B C C+ BAM ADEBAYO ALL-STAR / STARTER 3 C SHANE BLACKMAN UTAH 20 76 A+ 3 7'2 7'8 246 D+ A- D+ A D D- A+ C C SHAQUILLE O'NEAL HOF / STARTER 4 C TRACY FOX XAVIER 18 76 B 6 7'1 7'5 253 C- B+ C- A D D- A+ D+ C+ WAYNE EMBRY ALL-NBA / STARTER 5 PG LOWELL REEVES LOYOLA MARYMOUNT 18 77 B- 6 6'1 6'0 196 B+ B- A D+ C+ B+ D C- A STEVE KERR STARTER 6 SG MANUEL CHAVEZ MEXIICO 19 73 B- 4 6'5 6'9 212 B C D C+ C- C- C- D+ A - ALL-NBA / BENCH 7 SF DUSTIN CARROLL ST JOHNS 18 77 B+ 0 6'9 7'0 226 A- B+ B C+ B- C+ C+ B+ A- JAMES WORTHY ALL-NBA / STARTER 8 PG BO ANDERSON FLORIDA 21 74 B 3 6'4 6'7 193 C- C+ B+ D+ A- A- D+ C+ A AARON MCKIE STARTER 9 SG STELIOS DOUREKAS GREECE 20 74 C+ 0 6'6 6'8 201 B- A A- C+ C D+ D- C- B+ TERRY TEAGLE STARTER / BENCH 10 PF DANTE ARTHUR AIR FORCE 20 78 B- 1 6'8 6'9 187 C+ C D B C D B C+ B+ JONATHAN ISAAC STARTER 11 SG GENE HUNT NORTH CAROLINA 18 74 C+ 4 6'6 6'10 204 B B- A D+ A- C+ D B- A DONOVAN MITCHELL ALL-STAR / STARTER Another mediocre class. I have the draft class quality set to 65, I might have to crank it up again. I actually don't know if this rebuild is going to work if I don't get one star player. A player with a comp to Shaq and has D+ inside scoring? lol. He is a 2-way Mid-Range Specialist. Really makes you question the player comps in this game. I think next year if we do not make the play-in game it would be a failure. Both Portland and Indiana made the playoffs, so thats two more late 1sts.
