Orr initially retired following a diagnosis uncovering a degenerative neck issue that could lead to significant injuries. Following a battery of tests by additional experts, Orr was advised that he could continue his playing career and started making visits to other teams, Houston being the most recent stop. Houston drafted ILB Zach Cunningham in the 2nd round, and had plans on rotating Cunningham with ILB Brian Cushing, so very interested in how this would impact that plan.

Ravens faithful - what can you tell me about Orr as a player? Does he project to an ILB in a 3-4, or could he play OLB in a 3-4?

Orr is definitely an ILB and a pretty good one  at that.  He was our main coverage LB.

However, I wouldn't get too excited because I doubt that a team will actually sign him given the ambiguity over his neck injury.  It's just too big a risk imo after one franchise and the player himself deemed it too risky to continue playing after consulting with specialists.

I would also think its telling that the Ravens haven't even looked at signing him after Orr apparently got new medical opinion that cleared him despite the fact we don't have a single proven player on the roster to line up next to CJ Mosley at this point.  Or that despite being named 2nd-team All-Pro last season and his agent claiming that there were 15 teams interested in him when his comeback was announced, no team has just to sign him.

Just imagine the fallout if he signed with another team and then injured his neck...

Fallout for whom? Orr can make his own (potentially bad) decisions.

I hope he makes them in Miami.

I'd imagine the league/franchise that signs him would get some negative PR if he sustained a life-altering neck injury, regardless of the fact that he'd obviously have contributed to it by coming back to the NFL.

However, its a moot point as it doesn't look like any franchise will take the risk of signing him
