Well the micro tear in his shoulder was in a muscle not the tendon. It doesn't matter but medically they said it was completely unrelated and makes sense.

Glenoid fractures are exceedingly rare because they only occur in 2 settings:

1.   Super high-impact events.  In football it’s hard to do in isolation because usually something else “gives” - the AC joint, clavicle, etc.    It’s also less likely it it’s not a high-impact event with a no-give landing spot (like when player gets piled driven to turf with full body weight on him at landing) - because you need  the energy to not go anywhere to fracture that bone.  Like when a batted baseball hits a pitcher.  It’s worse when the ball stops dead because that means the pitcher absorbed all the energy.

2.   It’s more commonly seen in lower impact events in ppl with pre-existing shoulder joint instability.    That’s where the last 4-6 weeks comes in.

CLE is going to say it’s unrelated by default because if it’s #2 then the org & medical staff have exposure in how they managed this.     It could be absolutely correct but CLE also has every reason to say it’s not #2.

Ultimately what’s required at the time of the OR (fracture repair alone vs repair plus RC repair) will shed light on which mechanism was at play.    Seeing the play isn’t gospel or even close but it does help weigh probabilities.

Hope that helps,

Karma

Still waiting on that to kick in for 2 Rapistberger Super Bowls, 2 Ray Lewis ones, and a Tyreke Hill one and him continuing to ball out.

I guess it’s too bad it’s not equal opportunity.
