Don't think my QB rankings are going to shake any real feathers here.  Maybe might be viewed as a bit conservative by some of those who feel a bit more optimistic about that second tier of QBs.  Obviously, Caleb Williams is QB1 in this year's draft and USC's struggles don't change that for me.  The kid is special and has superstar potential.  I don't see any scenario in which Caleb Williams returns to USC for another year.  He's almost assuredly going #1 overall.  In most other years, Drake Maye would be QB2.  But with Williams in the draft, he's QB2 for me.  I've been very critical of Maye during this draft process, and while the concerns are there he's still a FRP QB and almost likely goes somewhere in the top 5 if not top 3.  Beyond those two, they have a slew of interesting QB prospects in Jayden Daniels, Bo Nix, and Michael Penix.  Of the bunch, I think Jayden Daniels have the best chance at being a franchise QB.  His athletic tools are going to give him a chance in the NFL.  I don't think he's got the intangibles that Bryce Young had, but more of the physical tools that Young lacked.  If one of the guys not taken in the top 10 ends up being a franchise QB, my guess is Daniels.  Honestly, I think you could flip a coin between Bo Nix and Michael Penix.  I think Penix has looked better than Bo Nix as far as translating to the NFL, but he's also playing in a passer-friendly offense and has an amazing supporting cast.  Bo Nix probably has a reasonably high floor with limited upside, but I think Nix is the opposite with higher upside but a bit riskier  given his supporting cast and injury history.  Spencer Rattler flashed early on in Oklahoma, but eventually was replaced by Caleb Williams.  He went to South Carolina and seemed to regain some of the steam but his inconsistency will keep him from being successful.  His good is a Kirk Cousins-level of QB, but his downside is bad Zach Wilson.  There's enough intrigue there to take him though.  Jordan Travis figures to float around as a solid backup.  Maybe a few spot starts here and there, but overall probably doesn't amount much.  Beyond those guys, I don't have any draft able guys but they'll almost assuredly see a few get drafted.

As of now, I don't include anyone who's reportedly returning (Ewers) or assumed to be returning (Sanders).  There's a bit of projection in that, so if things change the rankings will be updated.

Don't have him declaring.  If he declares, I'll update.  But I'm anticipating him returning.

Is that why Cameron Ward isn't listed as well?

I'm actually pretty in line with these rankings as far as talent grades go, but QB's positional value bump up several guys for me.

Yes.  This whole extra year because of COVID is making it a bit unclear as to who has an additional year of eligibility.  I don't think Cameron Ward declares, but if he does I'll adjust it accordingly.  He's probably somewhere around where Jordan Travis is ranked.
