Coordinators I firmly believe Shane Steichen was a top 5 offensive mind in the game today, and Gannon was above average, albeit a loser of a person and the beneficiary of an immense amount of talent on the defensive side of the ball. Whether the offensive playcalling blunders are on Brian Johnson being terrible at scheming, or rather Brian Johnson being forced to operate within Sirianni's scheme I can't say. We used far and away the least pre snap motion in the NFL, something that became "meta" this year. Very few short-medium routes or checkdowns. Despite having Swift we didn't utilize RB screens really ever. Our passing game felt like 80-90% of routes run were 20+ yards down the field or WR screens (which we suck at). Defensive Personnel Turnover 2. Alluding to what what I just previously mentioned, we lost a LOT of players on the defensive side of the ball between 2022 to 2023, and another large portion of the notable players are really starting to show their age or Rookies, or 2nd year players we never would've imagined being relevant a year and a half ago. DeSai and Patricia are perhaps the worst duo at stopping the opposing on offense on 3rd down ever, given that the team still had some level of talent. Something like 444th out of 448 in the last 17 years in that metric. We forced no turnovers this year really. And our pass rush evaporated the last 7 games, give or take. When Matt Patricia took over he kept dropping Hassan Reddick into coverage like the failures in Arizona would do when he played there.
