Food for thought, but when I think about it, is it really necessary to extend coaches? When was the last time a good coach left a good/winning situation, purely on his own (no owner/GM kicking him out the door, no retirement, etc)? Just have a bunch of winning seasons, contract ends, sign somewhere else despite the team wanting to bring them back? What question marks are those? He’s up there with Kyle, McVay and Reid as the best offensive mind in the game. You don’t revive Mosert from the dead and find a gem like achane by luck. It’s all scheme. Only real question is can this offense stay the same without Tyreek.

Average YPG vs teams with losing records: 443.5 Average PPG vs teams with losing records: 35.5 W/L vs teams with losing records: 10-1 Average YPG teams with winning records: 316.9 Average PPG vs teams with winning records: 16.1 W/L vs teams with winning records: 1-6 Obviously your numbers are going to look better vs bad teams than vs good ones, but the drop off shouldn’t be that bad, nor should the W/L. Purely as an offensive mind he’s arguably up there with the elite, but as a HC I don’t see how he can’t be at fault for massive drop offs in points/yards/wins when good competition rolls around. I expect it to get better, but it remains to be seen.

Unless Tua missed time this past season that I’m unaware of, then no. Whether it’s part of the norm or not (and I don’t think it is, to that extent) doesn’t change that it’s a question mark that needs answering on his resume.
