2008 (Matt Cassel): Top 10 scoring offense, Top 10 scoring defense, 11-5 record

2021 (Mac Jones): #6 Scoring Offense, #2 Scoring Defense, #3 Point Differential.

Yeah, okay buddy.

Belichick the Coach is the GOAT.

Belichick the GM is mediocre.

Wow, two seasons out of 30. That totally proves me wrong.

Yes, thanks for proving my point. At best, he's consistently mediocre without Brady.

Both apart they're great, together they were the best.

There is no point for you to prove, Belicheck has been the head coach for three teams and only has a losing record with one. Six superbowls with the other. "He's not the goat" He had two different dynasties in different decades. No one else did that. "It was Brady" This is a god damned team sport stop inflating the god damn QB's importance and the accomplishments of one man. They don't win 6 superbowls without top tier defenses and don't win 6 superb owls without tom brady.

Either way you can't discount the fact he has more super bowl rings than brady and at the end of the day, rings are all that matters.

I can hear you saying now....WAIT. Tom Brady is a WBNA champion because he is the partial owner of the Las Vegas aces so thus he is truly the goat. He won another team a championship by giving them money. So selfless.

I especially love the discarding of his unbelievable career as a DC for the NYG as well.

He literally had the GOAT QB to run his offense, and the GOAT Defensive Player doing whatever he wanted in LT running his defense

Not saying that diminishes Belichick, but it’s quite remarkable that he likely coached the arguable GOATs for both sides of the football

Basically he's overrated for the similar reasons Phil Jackson is. Jackson came into good situations in both Chicago and LA and coached the two greatest guards in NBA history while also coaching the most unguardable center of all time

Are we going to pretend Brady was the greatest QB in history the moment he stepped on the field? Like are we really saying Belichick gets zero credit for, say, the first three Pats rings just because Brady was there?

11 seasons, not 4. If he was this ultra genius coach, he'd have excelled regardless of who his QBs were. Parcells has rings with Simms and Hostetler, neither of whom is a Top 30 QB of all time. Parcells took Bledsoe to a Super Bowl, Belichick went 5-11 with Bledsoe.

I like the total rejection of eras and mentioning a team BB coaches for as well citing Parcells in NYG.

Kobe, MJ, Shaq, Pippen, etc. won a combined ONE ring without Phil Jackson. Pretty sure Phil Jackson had a lot to do with that. We can also stop pretending Brady was an elite QB before 2007.

Phil never built a championship roster. He inherited rosters that were already on the verge of greatness. Larry Brown and Rick Carlisle both proved more in their one championship than Jackson proved in all 11 of his. Hell, Tomajanovich proved more; no second option in the first ring, the No. 6 seed in the second.

They were 0-2 with Bledsoe before Brady took over. So that means Belichick was a combined 5-13 with a quarterback Parcells took to a Super Bowl.

Did Jackson ever win a ring with zero Top 15 players and no All-NBA selections? No, he didn't. In fact, he LOST to that very team while having four Hall of Famers.

Nah, Shannon is a double talker on Phil. On the one hand, he uses Phil to discredit Mike and Kobe (and especially the former) but as soon as Phil publicly criticized his boyfriend LeBron, he quickly used MJ, Kobe and Shaq to discredit Phil.
