What if the Bucs never fired Tony Dungy?

Despite three straight playoff appearances (one of including a very close loss in the 1999 NFC Championship game against the Rams, part of it due to poor officiating), the Bucs fired Dungy in 2002 and sold the farm to get Jon Gruden, who would go on to win the Super Bowl with what many considered Dungy's team.

What if, however, the Glazers were more patient, and stuck with Dungy? Do the Bucs win Super Bowl 37? Do they win a Super Bowl at all? What do you think happens to Jon Gruden and the Colts?

Well, I'm not entirely sure if the Colts would be the ones to trade for Gruden. Had they been the ones to do so and compensation was the same, they would have lost Dwight Freeney, Dallas Clark AND Bob Sanders. Without the latter, Indy does not win Super Bowl XLI.

We wouldn't have a Super Bowl win. And we'd be the most losing-est team in NFL history (by a lot) with no Super Bowls. We'd be worse than the Browns.

Gruden brought in 27 new guys and helped make our offense serviceable. He was that push our defense needed to become one of the all time greats.
