The Giants are signing veteran kicker Greg Joseph from the Lions’ practice squad.

He’s a seven-year veteran, and he spent the past three seasons with the Vikings. He holds the league record for game-winning kicks in a season, with five. He also kicked a Vikings record 61-yard field goal in 2021.

Joseph also has kicked for the Browns, Titans, and Buccaneers. He won a Super Bowl with Tampa Bay in 2020.

It tells you the state of the league in kicking that Joseph has become one of the the premier journeyman kickers of today's age.  He could be the new Shayne Graham, who played for 10 teams in a 15-yr career.

How do you think your scrambling would have gone over in today’s game?

“I would be more successful today,” Tarkenton said.

Why?

“Because the field is spread out more,” Tarkenton said. “I watch Patrick Mahomes. Patrick Mahomes doesn’t do anything I didn’t do. Nothing.”

You mea—

“Nothing,” Tarkenton interrupted. “I was just the first one who did it … with a fullback and two halfbacks!”

If you have a subscription, it's really an entertaining article as refers to yelling directly at Kirk Cousins to run more (yes, directly, as he's had Kirk at his office).

Oh Fran.... i love the guy, i truly do. because of him and Jim Marshall and Bud Grant i'm still a Viking fan today, but he just cannot turn down his ego to even an average level.

That's clearly been evident for the last several years.  Old age really hasn't softened him at all.  I'd have to imagine his bravado would often be tiring working for him...or maybe they just play along.

Fran carries a massive chip on his shoulder for not winning the three Super Bowls he played in, as if he had then the rest of the world would see him as great as he sees himself.

Bud Grant, on the other hand, just moved on and enjoyed his life.

The Patriots have plenty of injury issues on the offensive line as they head into Thursday night’s game against the Jets.

Left tackle Vederian Lowe and left guard Sidy Sow have both been ruled out for the game. Lowe has a knee injury and did not finish last Sunday’s game.
