  1. Both females said that after their brief encounter Baker texted them, "You were worth the wait." That is some grade-A old man weird creeper sh*t right there ... Baker in 45 years confirmed...
  2. who's ready for Grant Delpit at 10 and Curtis Weaver at 74 ... --OR-- K'lavon Chaisson at 10 and Ashtyn Davis at 74 ... ...then to come on here and read posts like, "I like it we got a top safety and a top end to play with Myles...." ... ... darkness will sweep the land....
  3. Then all is lost and Andrew Berry is not the hero we deserved or the hero we needed ... Andrew Thomas in the 1st and Curtis Weaver in the 2nd would launch me into the disappointed browns fan nether-realm where I'd have to fight my way its heartland in order to slay the dark entity wielding influence over the mind of Andrew Berry... only then can our draft find success and we and Andrew Berry be set free from the madness.. he'll go on to struggle for a year and a half before the team decides to kick him in at guard or move him to the right side.... ... hopefully by that time is confidence wouldn't have withered completely away
  4. Who's ready for that Tiger Woods style apology press conference with Tony Grossi leading the questioning ...
  5. eh ... His wife's a "model" ... she's aiight but she ain't a model model .... she's a model as in the "I modeled in high school and college" type of females except she grew up in the instagram, photoshop era.... she ain't no A-rate mode and not a super model for damn sure His wife gives him that I'm pretty and a "model" effort .. all young Bake wants is that "aww schucks I'm just a small town girl who can suck a softball through a straw" effort ... makes him feel at home in Texas and Oklahoma... lol ... I could only watch a few minutes of her video I aint got time for that bullsh*t, but the sad thing if it's true is that John Dorsey lied to us... The takeaway is that Dorsey and the staff fudged his hand size results... the girl suggests she has proof that the leader of men isn't what John Dorsey led us to believe ... and I for one am appalled... He lied to the public with his sideline celebration... He must be held accountable... hahhaa..
  6. I just read some of these past posts lol ... and did a quick google search to see what the heck people were talking about... ... Happy Wife ... Happy Life ... There may be turmoil in the Progressive Stadium House even if the young girl is lying about everything... .. either way it's likely creating turmoil in the Mayfield household... ... Here's to hoping Baker can get his home and work life on balance and moving forward in the right direction .. ... he also seems to be going the way of Tiger Woods where his pickups work at whatever restaurant or fast food place he passes through ... smdh ... ... the prophecy did not foretell of this ..
  7. No to Pagac as LB coach officially. Doesn't mean he isn't going to join the staff in some capacity. If he is joining the staff, it would likely be in a Senior Defensive Assistant role given his level of experience that would see him help all over the defense but specialize with LB assistance. Most have assumed that Tarver's hiring meant Pagac'll join as a OLB coach per their reading of Browns premium insider sites. As we're not running a 34, an OLB coach hurts the strength of Tarver's title. As Tarver's coming off a DC role, it makes more sense that it Pages joins that he'll have the SDA designation. Seems like we'll know what's what by week's end.
  8. A lot of stuff will likely come out combine time or up toward the draft, but I've heard he and the strength and conditioning staff, coaches, and his teammates have all got into it at various times about his commitment and accountability to improving and to the game. Uber talented but there's serious question marks about how much he loves it and will pursue the level of mastery and investment required at the next level to have a prolonged successful career. To me, I'm all in on the Berry-Stefanski "smart, tough, accountable on and off the field" profile. I don't want to draft guys with intangibles, competitiveness, reliability/dependability, love for the game over other stuff question marks anymore. So, Thomas is off my list. I'd rather Jack Driscoll, Robert Hunt, or Matt Peart types with outstanding intangibles and with lesser ability than Thomas.
  9. Becton is my 6th best OT, but it's undeniable that he's going top 8 imo based on how the league views talents like him and how well he'll interview. That list was the 8 prospects who I think are guaranteed to go top 8 before our pick not where I have Becton or others ranked per se. Herbert.... He's 6-foot-6-and-1/8 inches as measured at the Senior Bowl and as athletic if not more than Cam and Wentz. His arm is as big as Wentz but his accuracy and play in big moments as well as outward leadership are question marks. He's a freak of nature that showed bowl season that if Josh Allen can be a viable QB in the league Herbert most certainly can. Herbert's a bigger, more athletic, better intangibles, elite work ethic, lesser arm, lesser off-script ability, and more accurate version of Josh Allen. That's not going below top 8, especially when he'll run 4.6 at the combine. There's just so much to build off of in terms of traits teams won't pass up on.
  10. I now think no matter the order they come off the board, there are 8 players that are guaranteed to go within the top 8 picks unless some bad medical or combine interview news happens in the future. Players guaranteed to go in thetop 8 picks are the following: 1.) Chase Young, DE Ohio STate 2.) Jedrick Wills Jr., OT Alabama 3.) Jeffrey Okudah, CB Ohio State 4.) Isaiah Simmons, Hybrid-LB Clemson 5.) Derrick Brown, DT Auburn 6.) Joe Burrow, QB LSU 7.) Justin Herbert, QB Oregon 8.) Mekhi Becton, OT Louisville ------- That tells me that if we want one of the premium non-QBs we'll have to trade up to at least 8. If Tua's medicals check out, that would mean we have to get to pick 9.
  11. The only person that reported Pagac was Alex Marvez of SiriusXM NFL. No Cleveland, Canton, or Akron beat reported confirmed that reported sourcing or report. Wade Phillips then commented that "if the rumors are true the hires are great," but we don't know if that was based on his inside information or he himself reading the SiriusXM Alex Marvez reporting. It's a little odd that Mary Kay or any Browns beat reporters haven't confirmed the Pagac sourcing given all this time. Very well could mean an OLB vs LB coach designations, but it could very well also mean that Pagac's not actually coming here as Marvez suggested; or it may mean Browns beat reporters either aren't comfortable with the sourcing or don't have the sourcing Marvez has on the Fred Pagac hire. That or Marvez is just incorrect. We shall see.
  12. In the end, you have to trust your eyes and believe what you see; if that's what you saw and felt then trust it as long as your evaluation is evidenced based. You could be right when it's all said and done (but likely he's buttcheeks). Those are just my personal evaluations on his play after watching many games. In the end, it will be interesting to see where the league values him. I think he goes late 2nd or early 3rd.
  13. He's a really nice college player and has really accumulated production numbers tremendously. James Harrison had power and functional strength and set an edge forcefully against the run... Curtis Weaver does not play with power or functional strength and gets easily bullied in the run... Weaver also doesn't play with the forceful mentality Harrison played with. He also doesn't have the get off of Harrison. He's more of a Nate Orchard without the forceful mentality but with more hand combat moves. IMO, Weaver's just the type of player that people take in the 2nd or at the top of the 3rd that is a waste of a pick b/c he has no real upside to be a quality starter in the nfl. It would be better to take a swing on a guy in the 2nd or 3rd round that needs some development but has the traits to eventually start. He's also the type of routinely out of shape player that won't put in the time to refine his body and game. There are certainly worse players we could select in the draft but I wouldn't be fan of a Weaver selection. He doesn't fit the smart, tough, and accountable profile as he has deficiencies in toughness and accountability/work ethic.
  14. I mean .. I can imagine him being buttcheeks ... he's exactly the type of sloppy-bodied, no twitch/explosiveness, no heavy hands punch, no speed or bend college defensive end that goes on to be a non-entity, non-factor at the next level in the league ... ... whether he's there in the 2nd or whether he's there in the 3rd round ... it won't be a value pick because he's not going to make a quality impact in the NFL .. there's going to be a wide spectrum of disagreement on him in scouting rooms ..
  15. Above, last month stated how it would be a fail to hire McCartney as QBC outright. That was assuming TC was the primary QB coach. Hiring him with the offensive assistant designation is a better fit as it might suggest that Alex Van Pelt will be the primary QB Coach that utilizes McCartney as a lead QB Coach when Van Pelt is per-occupied with other duties (I.e., leading offensive meetings). McCartney has great character and served 3 years as a Quality Control Offensive coach under Kyle Shanahan at the 49ers and Browns, but he is known to be a more laid back QBC and wasn't the disciplinarian relentless eye and footwork driller that I wanted for Baker nor does he have the long track record of QB development. an Pelt however is and does. Assuming Van Pelt is the primary guy working with Baker, it can be a good fit that helps Van Pelt effectively manage his time and adds a coach familiar with the Shanahan scheme and positional requirements. It makes sense that Scangs wouldn't want to take a non-OC position under a 1st year Head Coach with the same OC experience as him. Under a respected signal caller Doug Pederson, his senior offensive assistant designation carries more weight than an offensive assistant or QBC designation under Stefanski.
  16. Hold your tongue, charlatan. When King Kai returns ... you shall be banished.
  17. Much like it was a win culturally not to hire Brad Childress due to his interpersonal shortcomings and gossip nature, it will be an even more enormous win if Andrew Berry stays the heck away from hiring Chris Polian to be one of his personnel chiefs after the draft. The son of Bill, is known in scouting circles of being a immature, ego-maniac who doesn't work well collaboratively and is always angling, side-talking, and back-channeling for political reasons. He sees himself as a GM, will do whatever it takes to get back in the captain's chair, and is the type that power goes to his head once given it. There's a worry Andrew might hire him as a service to his mentor Bill as Andrew worked under Grigson and Chris Polian in Indy. Chris has recently been let go by his good friend from high school, longtime coworker, and Jaguars GM Dave Caldwell. It's been rumored that Caldwell gave his friend all the time he possibly could but grew weary of putting out fires and the political games the younger Polian was playing constantly. Polian creates toxic environments wherever he goes. Here's to hoping Andrew stays away from hiring him. Hopefully, he can pull from other scouting exec trees that he's worked with for staffing. Hopefully, he can resist his mentor's wishes out of a sense of loyalt to give his son another shot. It would be great if he could pull guys from under Howie Roseman or Tom Telesco.
  18. You're the worst. What @NudeTayne said ... all of that wrongly assumed Dorsey would be back ... For me, the idea that Dorsey would be fired an unforeseeable consequence of a trash season Still a shocker.
  19. We disagree on the central point of this discussion. That is, the reason why Baker's stance on the matter is worthy of criticism is because Unlike Drew Brees 18 years ago Baker Mayfield has the amazing benefit of 4 critically important things that should be guiding his decisions on off-season QB training: 1.) Unlike Brees 18 years ago, Baker has the benefit of proven off-season skills and sports performance development blueprints and examples of some of the greatest QBs of all time (i.e., Tom Brady, Drew Brees, Peyton Manning) (Matt Ryan and Matthew Stafford) who have thrived in the current iteration of the game and current sports science/performance era. 2.) Unlike Brees 18 years ago, Baker has the benefit of the successful blue-prints of his successful young peers (i.e., Patrick Mahomes, Deshaun Watson, Carson Wentz, Lamar Jackson, and Dak Prescott) all of which utilize QB trainers (and even people recording their feet as Baker dislikes) and QB skills athletic sports performance agencies to help them improve. 3.) Unlike Brees 18 years ago, Baker has the benefit of having access to dozens of QB Athletic Sports Performance & Skills Development agencies like 3DQB, QB Summit, QB Country, George Whitfield QB School, Athlete Performance Enhancement Center, etc. Out of the dozens out there, one certainly would fit and mesh with Baker's particular beliefs on Quarterbacking. 4.) Unlike Brees 18 years ago, Baker has the benefit of the evolution and collective knowledge of sports science and elite QB athletic performance industry and its impact on the game, as well as the technological advancements that aid sports performance. Players even at the high school level are expose to QB training help unlike Brees' era. ------------------------ Even still at least up to this point, it's Baker preference in public statements not to seek out known helpful external expertise on QB skills development. While it's true that Brees was a 2nd year player that benefited from his Head Coaches guiding him to seek off-season help early on his career, the truth of the matter is we live in a different world than that time one where Baker unlike Brees has been exposed to too much to simply dismiss or be ignorant potential help. The game itself has changed tremendously as well so to has the art and science of quarterbacking, skills development, nutrition, and sports performance and recovery. People aren't "killing Baker" because; he's criticized because he doesn't elite athletic characteristics but still rejects the blueprints of growth his successful peers utilize to accelerate their growth which gives off the perception that he's lagging behind not only in his skills development trajectories but more importantly in his growth mindset necessary to sustain greatness at the NFL level. What is... is not always. We shall see how Baker's attitudes adjust throughout his career, but a rigid mindset against seeking QB Training help in the off-season is especially problematic given the day and age we live in and the knowledge/resources that comes with relative to when Brees was first starting out in the league.
  20. You're right. We agree. That's why I said, "for a team like ours he'd be looking for bigger money although for a team closer to winning/competing for the super bowl he might take a discount...So, all in all, I don't think he'd be much of a reality for the Browns."
  21. Indeed, Brees hadn't worked with "throwing and sports performance coaches" the likes of Tom House and later Adam Dedeaux of the now known 3DQB until later. I actually thought it was after his shoulder surgery in 2006 on the road to recovery and rebuilding his motion when he first started working with House, but I could've been mistaken. What is still the case is that Marty Schott required Brees and Flutie to work in the off-season with a favorite QB trainer of Schott's and that carried over to Brees and Rivers before Brees' injury and subsequent beginning of his career with New Orleans. Point is none of the people they worked with in the off-season were likely on the level of a Tom House or Adam Dedeaux throwing coaches, Brees still received QB skills development guidance in his off-season from heading into his second year and beyond. Hopefully Baker can pick it up heading into year 4 or this off-season even.
  22. How Berry views older stop gap vets is a mystery... We've been so accustomed to the Sashi-DePo-Berry era where older players have to go, but that may have also been more of a contextual focus due to the early stages of the rebuild and not a hardline strategy of theirs. If we did sign Peters, I doubt it would be for much and I also think for a team like ours he'd be looking for bigger money although for a team closer to winning/competing for the super bowl he might take a discount. So, there might be an impasse in future negotiations with him and his representatives should negotiations occur. So, all in all, I don't think he'd be much of a reality for the Browns.
  23. I absolutely agree with you that Okudah doesn't make it to 10. Keyword that I used in the phrase, "There's a chance Okudah could be acquired," was the word acquired meaning via trade. FGK laid out the points well in scenarios that if Detroit decides to go elsewhere, Giant's go OLine or big man as they've been rumored to be focusing on, Miami+Chargers go QB) ... moving from 10 to 7 or so is feasible if those teams are willing to trade. @freakygeniuskid fgk is also right that there's a rising perception in various analytics communities that coverage is more important than pass rush when when it comes to predicting metrics related to winning and stopping Offenses/QBs. A lot of this has to do with how easily the quick pass game and schemed throws can neutralize an elite pass rusher. That is not to say that pass rush isn't vitally important because it is. This topic was primarily discussed in a 4-part series of PFF, Football Outsiders, and others starting with some articles like https://www.pff.com/news/pro-pff-data-study-coverage-vs-pass-rush
  24. Yeah, my point meant the "highest player on the Browns board that there's at least some realistic shot at getting." I've crossed off Chase Young off the Browns board because he doesn't exist as even a remote possibility as he's going 2 guaranteed. There's a chance Okudah could be acquired; thus, why I think he could be the highest on their board for the prior reasons specified in that regard.
  25. Plus I think Schobert exemplifies Smart, Tough, and Accountable on and off the field. I think it bodes well for Joe Schobert staying in Cleveland. I also wonder how realistic it is for him to get paid top LB money elsewhere around the league; that is, his agent can represent that they'll shop around, but he doesn't have the athletic profile or quick twitch or outward locker room leadership characteristics that get free-agent LB paid big bucks (CJ Mosley, etc). I have no doubt that he'd get paid well, but the price tag may be able to be worked to favor the Browns thereby making him even more likely to stay.
